I am okay... Writing him letters keeps me going.... I am just worried if he will pass his final PFA bec BS is coming up soon.. He was having trouble with making the time for his run... We shall see.... Got a Letter from him today he sounded worried....
Ya, I've been writing everyday.  I got two letters from my son yesterday and he sounds very tired and anxious to get this over with.  He doesn't go to school next because he is undesignated (doesn't know what he wants to do yet).  He will be going straight to a ship so I don't think there will be much contact after BC until he comes back.  I think that will be even more difficult.
Yeah in the letter yesterday my sson sounds real tired. His handwriting was all crappy... It was hard reading it but I got most of it.... If he doesn't pass his final PFA he will be set back 2 weeks I just hope that doesn't happen.... Yeah that will be more difficult once they are on the ship....

He will have email on the ship, trust me it makes it a lot easier. When my husband went to a ship when we were first married there was no email and it was difficult, but by the time he retired and on his last ship they had email and we could communicate a lot easier..........Well except when our computer crashed the night before I broke my leg, that's where friends come in and he was able to call me as soon as he got the email. Same night I broke it. It is a lot easier now than it was 15 years ago. Basic will be the hardest on all of us. I know it is hard on me and I have been through this kind of thing before. Two more weeks stay positive. THEY'LL MAKE IT THROUGH fine.

How have your son's been doing on the two previous PFA's, mine has passed them both, although his run was a little slower than he would have liked.

Got 2 letters from my son today. He got promoted from EPO to Section Leader!! He's doing great:) Qualified for his sharpshooter ribbon, missed expert medal by two shots, which is kinda ironic since we own both guns he had to shoot. lol. He passed his test #2 great and sounded like he was doing good. Yep I'm a PROUD Mama (of course I am everyday, but today just makes it better). Good luck to all our SRs as they finish up training. GO 195!

g Mom, I'm apparently finding you everywhere.  :)

My son is actually in 196, but since they are brother divisions I decided to check this thread out.

My son told me that he got a marksmanship ribbon, is that different than a sharpshooter ribbon?  And he also said that he was a section leader but that was in his first letter about three weeks ago.  Once they are a section leader, do they stay that way, or does that change?  What is a section leader?

Something tells me we could be great friends. I love this comraderie(sp). My husband tells me that it goes marksman, sharpshooter, excellent ( there was one before marksman, but I forgot what it was & he dissappeared), They will keep section leader throughout unless they mess up and get it taken away from them. Their divisions are divided up into sections and one person is chosen to be the leader and make sure all the people in his/her division are getting all their stuff done right.

So excited that today/tonight is the biggest day for all the SRs in this division. Had three huge tests today. They are going to go great!!!! They started BS's 15 minutes ago and I find myself thinking about my son while I'm sitting at the computer trying to work! I will be so glad when tomorrow comes; just hope I don't miss his call as I work at the Juvenile Court and can't always take calls. Prayers going out to everyone's SR tonight! God Bless!

I am the same way Kim. Its 2.30am here.I am so tired, and i have a headache. I have a candle lit but im to worried to blow it out?! I need to sleep but don't want to blow this candle out!

Good luck to all Sr's in BS tonight! STAY STRONG

I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight!  My blue candle is burning and I can't blow it out.  I hope the house doesn't burn down!  What are they going through right now, is all I can think!  I took the day off tomorrow just so I can get the call!  Good luck to all of them!
Battle Stations are going strong and I am sitting here with you all, prayin it all goes well, with my earphone in listening to my SRs iTunes. Sure makes me feel closer to him. They will be awesome!
Do you know what time they are supposed to call us tomorrow?
