as far as ship 11 div 212 and as far as I know: 2 calls were received and no one has gotten any letters. we're just playing a waiting game and a mailbox dance! ;)
Those two lucky people....not a word, not a letter. I am almost in tears. I was for sure we'd get a call today. ......
I was told by my husband today that they were able to send their letters out today so we should be getting something Wensday or Thursday. He said something about waiting until the mail room was staffed. He also told me that his division received all of their mail yesterday. He said he got over 20 pieces of mail and asked me to send him a big envelope so he could mail things back after he read them. So that may be something everyone should think about if you sent a lot of mail. I am folding up a big envelope and putting my address and stamps on it for him and then I'll mail it in a smaller one. Just an idea.
My son called today, and he said the same thing that Joshswife said. He also said keep the mail coming and the pictures it keeps me motivated. He mailed letters around 1:00 Sunday and he asked his dad when will you get them(dad works at the post office)? Probably wednesday of thursday, and then we can all do the bootcamp mail dance. I hope everyone else gets calls soon and mail. Lord knows, it will make you feel like you are walking on air!
Too late! My son said his locker was so small he threw everything away but the pictures! He has this thing about throwing things away. Threw his clothes away instead of sending them back! What a great idea if you wanted to keep all the memorabilia that went with the letters! Oh well, he sounded alot happier!
Finally got the call yesterday. Yeah!!!!! All's well. What a relief.
I got a letter today and it was very nice. Now she is asking for letters when before she said not to give out the address. Maybe she was feeling overwhelmed that first two weeks there (that is just a guess as she didn't hint to that in her letter). But either way it is awesome. She also told me she passed all physical and academic tests so far. She didn't mention anything about the 10 pounds they said she had to lose from the last letter, so I am assuming she is doing fine on that. The letter was so much more explanatory about what she is studying on. I think she is actually enjoying boot camp. She even made a Mother's Day card on the back of one of the pages of her letter with highlighters. Then as usual, she wished it was perfect and apologized for it not being better. She is so into the details; that will be good for inspections I am sure :-). I think maybe is good she didn't call yet, I was bawling just reading the letter. I have so many mixed up emotions it isn't even funny. But I am sure we all here do.
I've heard from my son. He wrote a letter two days for before Mother's Day and I received another letter today. I also received a phone call two days ago...so if you see a phone call on your cell with 847 area code..ANSWER!! The sweetest words I heard was "Hi Mom"....
Thank you!!! I received five letters yesterday in the mail--my first contact. I am delighted! I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders.
