If you have a recruit in this division please let me know. I know that all of us who have someone graduating on 06/11 have to stick together. But it is so nice to know the family and friends of the men my husband is spending all of his time with. Also, I thought we could send letter or cards to each others recruits to add a little variety to their letters. Please let me know what you think!

I know my husband would be so thankful to know that I am getting so much support from his classmate's families. I look forward to talking to everyone on here and learing more. I can not wait until the meet and greet to be able to put a name with a face.

Good luck Navy Ship 11 Div 212!!!

Ellen~ I am so glad that you got mail and yes from all I've heard they live for mail cal every day. I swear I go through a book of stamps a week with all the letters and cards I send out. I bet you're glad to know he's sounding better too, that is always a plus. I am going to look up what all hell week includes. Do you know if part of it is the gas chamber or is that next week? I watched some you tube videos on the gas chamber and it doesn't look fun. Our men (and women) will need extra prayer that week.
Brenda~ I can bring all the things we will need to decorate with (scissors, tape, string) and such. And that would be great of michelle to bring those things. I also mentioned to her that if I order things off line maybe I can have them mailed to her house and she can drive them in with her. What time are you planning on getting to the hotel? I was with my friend who's driving with me to go over plans today and we're thinking between 2 and 5 depending on how may potty breaks we take. I think the Navy and Gold idea is good. I have navy and gold star cut outs that we can tape to the wall behind us. Do you think we should get name tages? I saw some on the party city website that were only $4 for 100 of them.
Destinye, Glad to hear you can bring all the little essentials that would set the metal detectors off at the airport, it sure will be a big help. As for the time we should be at the hotel by 2:30 - 3:00 p.m.. Our flight gets into chicago ohare at 1:00 p.m. The name tag idea sounds good (don't think we need 100) but I'm sure you could use them again sometime. I am somewhat upset this week, got nothing at all from Kyle not even a letter (my husband assures me, Kyle always wants to be prepared) with hell week maybe he just didn't have time. I am hoping maybe a call soon. In away I wish Kyle wouldn't have taken his debit card along, then maybe we would have gotten a call this week. Sorry I am feeling blue, it is raining and ugly outside and it tends to make for a long day. I am going to work on the banner today and hopefully get that all squared away.
I hope everyone gets a phone call or something, we all need to be uplifted once in a while. Check back later! Bren
Are any of you bringing kiddos between the ages of 2 and about 13 or 14?
Hi Everyone, just got a letter from Collin. It was dated May 16. He said he hasn't gotten any mail which surprizes me because I have writer's cramp. He also said they had some free time, but still no phone calls. Is that a separate privelege? He mentioned Hell week with inspections, a fitness test, simulated fire and then a real fire(he's excited about that- we are a fire service family) and something called Marlin Spike which is a line tying class to moore ships. They are up at 4am. They also have been doing drill practice for PIR, he said he will be in the 6th or 7th row, that they go according to height. He said he will walk with his head held high and his chest out--such a difference from the beginning---I wonder how he has changed. He was given a slip authorizing him how many stripes can go on his uniform. He said they will get their orders in week 6 or 7. He seems to think that they will be allowed out the weekend following PIR too. He told me about his bunkmate, I hope his Mom reads this. He never says any names to me. He described his friend as being Japanese and Irish and his Dad was a Master Chief Petty Officer in the Navy and he thinks he is really cool. Anyone know who I am talking about? Well that's my news. Hope you all got letters today too. Bye for now. NO WORK TODAY!!!
hey girls, i havent writen in a while but got letters last week and he was doing great! today got more letters and a phone call, the second one!!! he is doing so good. he said there are about 80+ guys and only 5 ranked up and he was one of them. hes going to aircrew canidate school next and seen online that its tough,so he knows that he needs to work hard to make it through not just bc but the next step too!! im sorry i dont write more but it seems as though everything is about the m&g and i cant make it, sorry., so i dont have really anything else but how my son is doing. he did mention a couple last names, L and C, did say he knows of your husband Destyyne, cuz i asked last time he called. well prayers to all of our loved ones and know God is watching over them more than we ever could. Bless them all for what they CHOOSE to do for us!!!
I got a phone call last night-Woo Hoo!! that made up for not getting a letter, although my daughter said she got a letter from my son on Wednesday. I talked to his Dad and asked if he had gotten a letter and he said, yes, he did, but it was very short! I laughed and said he probably got tired of writing if he was doing more than one-typical!!

He said in his phone call it was Hell week and he will be glad when it is over. He got a ribbon for the gun range, so that made him very happy. He enjoys shooting and is usually pretty good at shooting clay pigeons and hunting, so I was hoping he would do well. Did you all know there is a Navy Marksmanship team they can try to get in? It is volunteer, but sounds pretty cool. Here is the website if you want to read about it: http://www.usnst.org/

Anyway, my son said he failed his PT test by 11 seconds, so he hopes his next (and last try) he can pass-the running is getting him every time. He did 68 situps, and they only need 50, so that is good. I keep forgetting to ask about his personal inspections but I think he is fine with those. They are getting pictures taken today so that is cool. I can't wait to get those! They are almost through the toughest parts, so we will have to be positive and keep praying for them. Hopefully we will all still be at PIR on 6/11!!!

Have a great day!
Nathan did not mention the gas chamber during hell week. I think maybe that is next week. I will have to get on you tube to see what it is all about. I may not want to know! In Nathans' letter he said boot camp was the hardest thing he had ever been through, but he felt like he was becoming a better person. I was so happy that he already felt that way! I think this will be life changing for him! It makes it easier on me knowing that this is helping him to become the man he was meant to be! Hang in their moms and keep praying!
Hello Ellen, great to see another Nathan Mom, I might have missed it but where are you from we are originally from Illinois, I have a sister in Grays Lake not too far from GL, also my daughter, Nate's oldest sister lives in Chicago, we moved to Florida when Nate was 12, and now he is back in IL! Nate also sounds better than the first couple weeks also says it is getting harder. I pray for him and ALL THE DIVISION may they be the best of all now and during Hell week! Tell Nathan to hang in there and stick with My Nate if he needs help with the physical part. Nate can get help with the testing. lol take care ladies, I am in Seattle WA visiting My middle son David (25) will be home soon. Maria
Hi Maria and everyone else! We live in Franklin Tn. Nathan was born in Nashville and lived here until he left for college. He completed 2 yrs at Oxford Univ. in Atlanta. He will turn 24 on May 23rd. What a way to spend your birthday. We have all been dealing with flooding here. It has been pretty traumatic. The only good thing about it is that I have been so busy, I have hardly had time to be depressed about him being gone. I spend any down time writing to him and checking out this site. I have also enjoyed the book Honor Courage and Commitment. I hope Nathan and Nate have met. I still can't figure out why Nathan is so stressed about the folding. It sounds kind of silly to me, but he mentions it in every letter. He is really struggling with getting it right and apparently has been reprimanded for not doing it right. Have a nice trip home. We lived in Illinois for a short time years ago when my father was in the Air Force. I have never been to Chicago though. Looking forward to it! Have a good weekend everyone!
hello everyone ... i'm new to the navy moms site. my son is ship 11 div 212 ... haven't heard a peep for two weeks. hoping all is well.
Welcome to the ship! I haven't heard from my son for almost 2 weeks also, but the same old thing "no news is good news". Will you be attending PIR? If so, alot of us moms and dads will be attending The Meet N Greet at the Ramada, Thursday night before PIR. The more the merrier! There are alot of supporters on the site, we all have to stick together for the next 19 days.
Nice to hear I'm not alone ... it sure helps A LOT!!! : )
