Hi All!
Drew'smom: I ordered a dvd/video and more photos by contacting Angie Vrana, Operations Clerk, Navy Exchange Photo Lab at 847-578-6205. She emailed an order form to me and I sent it in. Let me know if you would like the form and/or email address. Tess

Hi....My son graduated on 6-11, Div 215. During the graduation (10 minutes into it) my camera died. I only have photos of Drew standing in front of the division sign. If anyone has pictures or videos....could you please share them with me? I have been devasted about this. My son was the honor recruit and I have no pictures of the graduation. I have already downloaded the videos from "emptynester". Thank you so much for posting that. I cry everytime I watch it. Thanks!!!!

Hi everyone, I t was so nice to meet so many of you at the Meet N Greet. I heard from my son last night and he's enjoying the freedom at A school. He's in a temp ship as of now, so he said he's trying to get his phrase 1 complete so he can move on to phrase 2. Wasn't it great that they got to be apart of the human flag my son said that he was almost in the back by the pole. It was so hare dropping him off Sunday, I just wish I could have seen him Monday before I left. Best of luck to all our New Sailors in their A Schools, We are so Proud of you.

Tysmom and Tess. I heard from him today. he got his phone from t-mobile today. :) Made me so happy. His roommate is actually someone from his BC division (214) I thought that was pretty cool. He is buying his laptop tomorrow because we just shared mine when he was home. I am hoping and praying I get the opportunity to visit fourth of July weekend. I think it would be such an amazing time to visit as well. Hope you both heard from your sailors today and hope there is much more communication now.

My son said the galley food wasn't too bad either. He said the salad bar was decent and said he had something "cordon bleu" tonight for dinner. Maybe things have improved recently! I got his address today and managed to get a box off with his cell phone and some books and other items he wanted. I think he said he was going to the mall tomorrow with your son. Said it is pretty warm there but he was lucky that the air conditioning in his room was working. I guess not all of rooms have functioning air conditioning. I've heard from him a couple of times a day also. He sounded a lot more settled today. He seemed kind of lost yesterday.

I've heard from my son twice a day since he got to Virginia! What a kick!
Wglover, he said a female went with them to the A school so it sounds like it might be your daughter! I told him to tell her "you go girl"! He still thinks his school is starting on the 28th. They have discovered the buses and how to get to the mall so there is a lot more freedom at the beginning than I thought there was!
Sajest- glad you got to spend your anniversary with your hubby! We flew all day and had that same hungover feeling...maybe a little let down!
Janis-has your son told you about the galley food? Mine said it wasn't so bad! I told you my cooking was bad! He said he was "lost" that first day because no one was yelling at them and telling them what to do!

Dear wglover,
I think our sailors are in the same A school in Virginia. How did you find out the A school start date has been pushed back? Any idea when it is supposed to start now? I'll have to ask my son when he calls next. His orders had said it would start on June 28th. He seems to be at loose ends too with all of this new found freedom!

Sesomer...I'm with you...I haven't heard from Ty either. He was part of a couple of sailors who had to stay in their ship until yesterday. He was heading over to A School at GL by today and starts A School on June 27th...so I don't have an address as of yet or a way to contact him. He was going to get a new phone (we checked out TMobile at the NEX)....so I'm currently in "limbo"...let me know if you hear from yours.

sesommer: Does he have a phone? My son and many in his group were able to bring back cell phones and laptops (there was a short list of items) on Sunday when they returned to the base/school. If your son has a cell phone or computer, I would think he would be able to contact you. Some of the guys even "borrow" a phone until they get their own. Did you get a new address for him? If so, perhaps you can write and ask him to call and/or send him a phone --something like that. You'll hear from him. I think they are going through an adjustment period right now. That could be it too. Hang in there.

My Sailor is also staying at GL for school. I haven't heard from him yet though. Am I the only one. I hate being back at the not knowing stage again. It's so painful.
