THE MAMA TEST

I was out walking with my 4-year-old daughter. She picked up something off of the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked. "Because it's been on the ground; you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs, "I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Mama, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart." I was thinking quickly and replied, "All moms know this stuff...It's on the Mama Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mama." We walked a long in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. "Oh...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad." "Exactly", I replied with a big smile on my face.

Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful Mama's out there!

I got a phone call today at 3:01pm. I was waiting in the pick up line at school to get my kiddos and my phone rang. When I saw the area code my heart started racing. It was my husband, Josh!!!!! We got to talk for atleast 5 minutes. He still sounded a bit sad, but it was better than the last call.

Charles' Mom: Hi. I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. I certainly did but I too was waiting for the call, which did not come, from my recruit. Our sons are in the same division. I think I got a little spoiled since I received several calls already and a letter. But my son told me last Wed. that he may not be able to call today. I don't remember if he gave me an explanation. Last I heard though, he was doing well, and his division was doing well. So, I think it's safe to feel positive. I agree with you, I'll bet they were disappointed that they were not able to call and maybe feel a little guilty. I hope not. I told my son not to worry about anything but doing a good job. We will stay strong!

I am happy for you Tristans Mom. I know how proud you are. Unfortunetely, most of us have not received a phonecall, yet, and I am afraid that it is almost too late in the day to still keep hoping. So in the meantime, I am just feeling happy for you and your mothers day call, and I am certain, that in due time, the rest of us will get their long awaited phone call, too. Wishing your son continued success. I want to wish all the N4M's a wonderful and pleasurably decending Mothers Day. I pray that all our recruits are doing well and are keeping their spirits up high. It must have been very disappointing to them as well, not being able to call us today....especially today.......it makes me wonder about their RTCs.........tsss......

Good Evening Moms - Yes!! my Tristan called his MaMa at 1:35 pm California time. He tells me that ship 11div 209 has a highly regarded RTC who has taken many division to decoration and that his division looks like it's gonna go...watch out for div 209 Go Navy!! Also T scored a A- on the written test...all good news!! Gosh, I must be really hard on my kids because he was afraid of my reaction when he told me his test score...I reiterated again "Tristan just do your best, that's all we can expect from you, make friends enjoy when possible, work hard and don't let your division down...be a team player, son". We cannot be more Proud of you!! All 73 recruits in his division are working like a well oiled machine except 1 recruit is having a st back...will have to PIR later, T said. Well Moms I got my wonderful Moms gift in the form of my recruit is on schedule. OH! forgot, Tristan said his division finally received their Mail...T received the most of 15 card & letters...I could see his face grinning from ear to ear.
