Just got a call from my son Alex (11, Div. 210) . I though that maybe something was wrong but he called to tell me that he passed the written test that they took on Monday, and did very well. He said that those in his division who are doing well were given a choice of a phone call or cleaning their quarters. Well, I guess that doesn't sound like much of a choice but he said that they actually like to have the extra time to clean up so that they don't fall behind in their chores/responsibilities. He said that his division seems to be doing very well. He says that the RDC's in his division are tough enough but also reward them with phone calls for a job well done. It sounds like these recruits are becoming more calm and falling into the routine. I think that's good news for all of us. If we squint hard, we can see the finish line!

Everybody - Just had to post my T's 1st letter came today OMG...Thought he would write about his time in bc but nope!! All he said in his letter was what wonderful Parents we are..his Sister's are...and how much he loves us..misses us like crazy!! Thanks us from the bottom of his heart for for loving him as we do; that I'm the greatest Mom on earth(his opinion) to soon to tell if he made the right decision on the Navy...I think the letter was written the first week, there is no post mark.I know he made the right decision on the Navy because he said so on the phone to his GF last Sunday. I don't believe that T has ever shown so much emotion to us before...usually he just jokes around to get his point across. Go Navy!! doing wonders to my Son!!

Welcome Trevor! Nukewife it is great to know the Red Cross was able to reach your hubby.

Okay, I'm wondering does the birth of Trevor make him our official PIR mascot?

Someone asked if the recruits get to go to meet and greet- as far as I know nope.
Comment by Jan1 on May 5, 2010 at 1:45pm
Dear Nukewife,
Blessings and congratulations to you and your husband on the birth of your son! I can only imagine how exhausted you must be. If you were nearby, I'd leave off some dinner for you! I can remember feeling as if I was living in a time warp when my kids were infants. My son called early this morning on "official' business - getting more information to complete his paperwork. He said they had started to get their mail. I've been sending him all of the line scores and game results for the St. Louis Cardinals. Now he wants me to send NY Yankees info for another guy in the group. He couldn't speak very long. So glad that the Red Cross was able to get the info to your husband and that you got to speak to him. Take lots of pictures!
