I saw a post on the Boot Camp Mom's group that says you should set up an event page for the meet and greet for your PIR. I looked and did not see one so I went a head and made one. This is a place where you can RSVP so that the Ramada can have an idea of how many people will be coming. I just wante to let everyone know.

Does anyone know what the weather is like in Great Lakes in June. I wanted to get shirts for my kids and I to wear, but I wasn't sure what kind to order. I looked and weather.com said 76, but very windy. I'm not sure what is considered very wind. Does anyone live near there? I'm from Texas so I am used to Hot and Humid.

Focusing on the Future- That is a great story and I wish you both the best... The women here are the best and will help you through this. I know they have helped me so much. This is a very good place to vent, cry or share happy news.. we are all here for each other. It is so funny that I feel that we are all family. Welcome to our group.

First of all, I want to thank all of you for your posts because you have kept me smiling over the past few days while I was waiting on approval to join the site.

My story is a unique one. I met this wonderful guy online and we talked for a couple of hours. We had this instant connection and immediately we both felt like we had known each other for years. He had spoken non-stop until, all of the sudden, he was quiet. He told me there was something he had to tell me. Well, knowing men, I thought the worst. He then informed me that he was leaving for Navy bootcamp in 10 days. At first, my heart sank, because I knew that meant he would be gone, however, being a double army brat, I also knew the opportunities that awaited him. Over the next 10 days we spent as much time as possible talking online, on the phone, emails, texts, etc. He even sent me a lil teddy bear so that I wouldn't forget how much he loved me while he was away.

He called me on 4/20 around 4pm to tell me that it was the last time he would talk to me for awhile. As the tears welled up in my eyes, I mustered enough of a smile to tell him that I loved him and wish him all the best and I demanded that he stay safe. We hung up and I quickly grabbed the tissues. While away from my phone he called back. When I returned and saw the missed call I tried frantically to call him back, only to get his voicemail. I cried harder knowing that I had missed something he wanted to tell me, until, the voicemail arrived. He left me a very loving, caring voicemail that I listen to everyday.

I came to this site in hopes of having someone to talk to that doesn't think I'm crazy for sticking around for a guy I just met. His family thinks that I am only after him for the "military perks", so I came here.

You guys are all awesome. Again, thank you so much for the smiles and such that you have already given me. I look forward to getting to know you over the next few weeks.

Tristians-Mom - I spoke with my son yesterday and he thinks that he met Tristan. He said that one guy came up to him and siad that his mom has been talking to your mom..so I am sure it was hi,m. He siad that they have not gottent to talk to each other too much .... I am glad to hear that he has been doing good. It was a relief to hear that mine is doing well too. Did Tristian have to get his wisom teeth pulled out? My son said that they had to take his out even through they had not even come through yet. That was a surprise to me.
