Cindy, you are so right! I do feel that this is the best thing for Lucas. He had no direction when he was at home and was floundering. Now he has a wonderful if difficult path ahead of him but I know he CAN do it. He is very focused and has his eye on the prize. (His words.) Have a great day everyone!

Cindy, I passed along the information in your post to Lucas by email and said "See, you do know him!" LOL

Kim, glad you got to speak to Derek. Have a wonderful visit with him.

I too miss the letters but Lucas has been emailing this week. He emailed Sunday night and last night. They were short but informative. I guess that's about all I can ask for right now.

Joanne, I almost fell off my chair laughing about Australian men. You have to be right because all the Australian actors I can think of are hunks. :O)

Hey, Nuke Moms, any of your sailors in class 0942A?
Comment by Lorraine:Proud Mom a Nuke MM ELT on July 13, 2009 at 2:30pm
Hi ladies.
Rita, I sent Lucas' laptop by Fed Ex but that was to SC.
Joanne, So glad you had a great time at the beach.
Cindy and Paula, WOW! Lucas told me at PIR that he gained 11 lbs. Although I couldn't see where.
Paula, there is a shuttle. Lucas took it to the mall. Also, I think Gloria had said the DVD takes about 6 weeks to get to us.
Kim, I finally gave in last night and called and he was having dinner. I said to call me back and he said he had a lot to do and he wasn't sure if he would have the time ARGH!!! But, when my husband and I got to work this morning there was an email from him that he sent last night. So, he redeemed himself :o)

Hey Joanne, have a wonderful time at the beach. You certainly deserve it!
Lucas can't drink yet. They have to wait about 4 weeks before they phase up and can drink (if they are of age), drive, wear civilian clothes, etc. He starts his classes on Monday and can't wait. He seems very excited. I haven't heard from him since he called to say he got our package with his phone and laptop. He sounded annoyed at all my questions the other night so now I'm annoyed at him. I figured he will call me when he's ready to talk. Let's see how long that takes him :) It's really HARD letting go and it helps to know that I'm not alone.

Amanda, do you mean we still have to live with "no news is good news"? I don't think I can stand it anymore :) I haven't heard from Lucas either. He left for A school in SC yesterday morning. He doesn't have his phone or laptop either. I have to admit that it's driving me a little crazy, too.
