Joanne, there is a group on here called Molly's adopt a sailor. They send packages, cards, etc to sailors. This holiday season it is a group of Seabees
in Afghanistan. I have been crocheting scarves to send to them but they are also looking for Christmas stockings and gifts to put in them. Check it out.

T track stands for transition track where they do 12 hour watches and have PT until school starts. He hopes that school will start in a couple of weeks.

Kim, I'm so happy you finally heard from Derek. I know it's been difficult for you not knowing what's going on with him. Lucas is still in school and I am thankful that at least I know where he is. But he has been on T track and I hadn't heard from him in a while. I finally texted his girlfriend to ask if she knew what was going on with him.She told me he has been on 12 hour watches and sleeps a lot of the time he is off. I thanked her for the information. That evening guess who called me? Yup, Lucas. Guess why he called me? Yup, she told him to (what a great kid she is!). He said, "I didn't call because I have nothing new to tell you." Well, it would be nice to know he is alive and well and to just hear his voice. But he didn't get it. I told him to humor me. Let's see if he does.

Cindy, I'm so happy that Jared is getting to come home for Thanksgiving. He is going to love the banner. We hung ours from the front windows and when he came in the house he said "Thanks for the banner. It's great." So they do appreciate it.

Joanne, I hope you hear from Jason and Ellen soon and that they wake up and realize what a great mom they have.

Have a great day, ladies!

Hi Kim, so glad you finally heard from Derek! I know it's been hard on you not knowing what's going on and even though he didn't give you much information I'm sure just hearing his voice was a comfort.
Joanne, I hope you feel better real soon. Big ((((HUGS)))) to you!!!!!!
Laura, Congrats on the new car!!! That's wonderful news!
Cindy Lou, I hope Sean gets to have some kind of celebration on his Birthday. Lucas is also on T Track right now and he has been getting up at 4:30 in the morning. He said that Power School starts sometime next month. Will Sean be starting then also?
Have a GREAT day ladies!!!!

Lucas drove back the whole way by himself. It takes about 13 hours and he stopped half way at a hotel on Sunday night and was back at base by 4:00 yesterday. When he was coming home last week, his girlfriend flew to Charleston and drove back with him so he wasn't alone. I can tell you I was very nervous about him going alone and was breathing a sigh of relief when I got his text message that he was there.
Cindy, we were eating dinner on Saturday and Lucas got a text from Jared! It's so nice that all our guys seem to be friends.

Well gals, my sailor is gone. We said goodbye to him yesterday afternoon and I cried like a baby when he drove away. I hope he gets to come home for the holidays. He said he does unles something changes so I'm not counting on it yet. This week just flew by and it was like a tease. At least if he gets to come home for Christmas my company shuts down the week between Christmas and New Years and I'll have a little bit more time with him. I hope!!!! Cindy and Paula, my thoughts are with you both today.

Hi ladies. Thanks to Paula I have a new picture to put up as my profile pic.
We had a great day touring the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum on Tuesday. If you ever get to come this way our sailors get in for free and they don't have to wear their uniforms to get the free admission. It was all very informative and when we toured the sub they have there Lucas was saying "hey I know what that is" and "you never want to touch this" LOL He was really very funny. Having a wonderful time and probably will be on here crying on Monday.

Hi Gals, just have a minute to let you know that my baby is home!!!! I have been hugging the stuffin' out of him every chance I get. Cindy, he just LOVED the banner. Thank you so much for giving out that information. I asked him about the hypnotist and he wanted to know how I knew about that. He said he didn't think he was hypnotised because he remembers everything he did. I don't know much about it so I can't tell if he was or wasn't. He did say that Jared was a REALLY NICE guy thought. Big THANKS to Paula for getting great pictures at graduation. You are the BEST!!!!! Cindy Lou, thanks for the congratulations and BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO Sean also. Love the picture of our three guys together. Gotta get some work done. Taking tomorrow off to spend the whole day with my sailor.

Kim, no he didn't but he's in the nuclear program and he told me that they go into BC as an E2 and he was an E3 after PIR. Nuclear has 3 schools, A School (3 mths for him, 6 mths for other rates), Power School (6 months) and Prototype (6 months). After A School they are Petty Officer 3rd class. I asked him how he gets to PO 1st class and he said you have to take tests. I know he becomes an E4 but I don't remember if it's now or after all the schools are finished.

Woo Hoo Ladies! I have a Petty Officer!!!! Lucas just called. Graduation is over and he will be on his way home in a little while. It feels like PIR all over again. I can't concentrate on work and feel like I'm jumping out of my skin with excitement.

Joanne, I didn't put anything in for rank or anything. I got an email that said they have my order and it will take 12 weeks for delivery. Did you get a confirmation email? If not, there was an email address where you can send questions. Sorry about Ellen. That stinks. Just try to enjoy your time with Jason.

Kim, nice to see you back. Glad that Derek is doing well!

Laura, all will settle down with Matt once he gets settled and learns the lay of the land (or is that ship? LOL) Can you tell I'm punchy?

Good morning ladies. I was just on the Boot Camp site and saw a posting for free blue star banners. I just ordered mine. Here is the link if you would like to order one. Go to http://www.grantham.edu/# and scroll all the way down to the bottom left--you will see a link for Blue Star Flags.
Have a Wonderful Day!!!!
