For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I went to the post office and bought an envelope with a prepaid stamp that cost about $4.00
The man at the post office said all I had to do was send that envelope to him and he could put whatever material inside that he needed to. The stamp is so expensive because they don't measure the weight of the envelope. That's the best way so far that I've found. It's really easy too. I bought a plain manila envelope from the dollar store and stuck the pre-stamped & pre-addressed envelope inside of it. That way all he has to do is put things inside of it, seal it back up, and send it back home.

the envelope you buy from the post office is for him to send back to you. its $4 dollars.
you have to put the envelope you paid for inside of another one so that he can send it back to you.
if you sent him the envelope you paid for by itself, it would be addressed to him and he wouldn't be able to send it back. that would defeat the purpose lol

I sent it off today. I hope it makes it to him. The lady at the post office didn't seem to know what I was talking about and said all I could do was a flat rate folder envelope thing which was like $4 and some change. But then said I had to mail it in this huge US postal envelope... hope that doesn't affect anything

I sent mine a week ago tomorrow so i should be getting it back this coming thursday i would imagine. Ill let you know if I get it back with stuff in it/it gets sent back/or he says something about it in his letters :).

concerning the prepaid envelope.. make sure you address it to yourself and also put your address in the return address spot.. That way no matter what you will receive the stuff your SR sends home.. You can fold it, but I recommend not to.. So buy a manila envelope to take with you to the post office (or you can buy one of theirs) to put the prepaid envelope that costs $4.95 inside the manila envelope to send to your SR.. I did it resently
