Jess - that is a good idea. Whenever the attorney's that I work with travel, we always send boxes directly to the hotel. Just make sure the name and arrival date are on the outside of the box. AND - remember to do a return label if your able.

My husband called me at work and said we got two letters today! Busy day, so I'll have to wait until I get home to read them!

Oh, shucks, you guys. I know all of our recruits are doing great things. I'm just spoiled with a daughter who likes to write letters to her old mom. In her last letter she send me a diagram of the auditorium where PIR is going to be held and exactly where she'll be standing -- because she's in a 900 division, she'll be performing at her own PIR and severl others before it -- and she's given me explicit instructions on where to sit for best possible viewing. She said she'll be very upset with me if she can't spot us when she looks up in the bleachers. Keep the faith! We'll all see our loved ones soon, soon, soon.

I'll just have to think VERy carefully when I'm packing to make sure I don't take anything I'm not supposed to. I'm okay with getting on the plane and such, it's the taking off that bothers me. I REALLY don't like that feeling. I'm VERY excited like I said before.

tallmama, you are very lucky! I'm happy to hear that your daughter is doing well!

tallmama, you are very lucky. My son is ship 7 div 201.
Clandy, actually you can take a lighter on the plane. And I think basic make up is okay. It's gels & liquids that are suspect. Check your ailine's website; there should be a description of what is allowed & how to pack it.

Clandy, yep, lighters are confiscated. And I hope I didn't scare you! Once you get
thru security start thinking about seeing your husband and enjoy the flight! :-)

Good afternoon all. My daughter is in Division 929 ship 6 and I have gotten letters two to three times a week like clockwork. Especially since she is now allowed to write on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Of course, I've been sending her letters every two days myself, and I know her BF is also doing the same. I'm probably spoiled. I'm sorry a lot of you aren't getting letters very often. I just want to know if she's passed her physical fitness test and inspections, etc., and that there won't be any delays in her PIR. 17 days and I'll be on a plane to see her. I can't wait!!!

Okay maybe I'll just wait to buy things there. what about like makeup container and such. Thats ok too? no lighters?(use that for my eyeliner) Prob better take that out huh? I'm nervous, I haven'f flown in awhile. Don't want to miss my flight! So VERY excited!

Jamie'sMom: I didn't receive any last week either. I keep telling myself they are just staying busy but I can't help but hope that they were able to write a lil something yesterday and that it got sent out today :) Fingers crossed for us all to get some kind of communication!
