Jazzed - Your welcome. Jamie has always been a talker, but that was one thing I noticed about him. He just talked and talked and talked! Absolutely loved all of his stories. The language was a little hard to adjust to!! He said they learned at least a hundred different ways to say "poop" only he didn't say poop!!

Arrived home (Colo) yesterday about 6pm. My daughter & I drove. PIR was amazing... just amazing. We spotted Kevin right away. The ceremony was wonderful... I could've listened to the drums for hours. Kev wanted to see Chicago. We drove over to the train station... and he commented that riding in a car was so weird. And we were going SO FAST... at 20 miles an hour!! LOL We caught the train to Ogilvie station, then a bus that went to the Navy Pier. Kev wanted shrimp & so Bubba Gump's it was. It was wonderful to watch him eat... and eat.... and eat... and talk talk talk. He's learned so much and had so much to share. He wanted a boat tour of Chicago and so we took a 30 minute boat tour. No time for much else... took the bus back and the train back. On the train, a gentleman came up to Kev, handed him a wad of bills, congratulated him and told him to take his mother out to dinner !!! It was $100. Our jaws dropped. Amazing !! The only hiccup we had was the conductor did not keep the doors open very long on our Great Lakes stop. We missed getting off. Thankfully, the next stop was not too far. We walked part fo the way and took a cab the rest of the way. Kev was at O'Hare at 3am and his flight for Mississippi left at 3pm. Thank goodness for the USO. We drove to O'hare Saturday and spent several more hours with him, plus met several of his buddies who were headed to Miss. as well. Its wonderful that he can have his cell phone and we can talk & text every day. Now I need to go get photos developed !!! Woo hoo !!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for sharing all the video/pics and stories from PIR! It was an amazing and exciting day/weekend. It was wonderful to spend time with my son, a proud U.S. Navy Sailor! I have to share my favorite part was at the Navy Pier when he went on the giant swing ride....he had a giagantic smile on his face just like when he was a little boy and rode the rides at our local fairs! Melted my heart!!! He has his 19th b-day the day before he starts A-school. I hope I get his new address in time to send him cards and letters for his day!
God Bless each one of you and your Sailors! He has brought them this far and he will take them to their dreams and beyond!
Take care all!

Hey everybody, we just got in a little over an hour ago. We stayed overnight in Bloomington, IL to visit friends. I hope everybody made it home safely. I don't have time to catch up so I'll read tomorrow. I see that new profile photos are going up! LizzieT, I saw a couple of cute ones of your family before I clicked off. I'll go back and look at those again too. What a brave little girl to stand over the big city!
What a great group of sailors we have! Every sailor we ran into at Navy Pier and 6 Flags looked great and was polite. They are doing us proud!
Back with you all tomorrow after some sleep and a days work!

Hi Ladies!!!!

Oh geez, I have been sleeping for two days ... omg ... was that an emotional and busy weekend! We had a 9pm flight to return back to Pittsburgh on Sunday night and I ended up sleeping and being lazy all day Monday. Returned to work today with pictures in hand. It was really nice that my co-workers were anxiously waiting to see them,.
However, I couldn't wait to talk to all of you and hear about your weekend. Your stories are great!! I had to go back several pages to catch up.

Sobe ... I so wanted to meet you and wanted to be there when jgoody presented the panties ... lol. We wanted to do it together but unfortunately it didn't work out. I would have loved to have seen your face (and your husbands too) ...LMAO!!!

All of your stories are great ... I'm in tears reading all of them! What a wonderful weekend for all of us and I know we're all SO Proud of our Sailors.

Lizzie ... what a trip for you ...my goodness girl, I'm surprised you're still sane ..lol.

Sobe & Paula ... your airport story had me in tears ... wow!

To all of you (jgoody, tallmama, jamiesmom, shelly, clandy, elizabeth) that I had the pleasure of meetng ... It was a pleasure!!

Sobe, Paula, MVBoone ... I'm so sorry that we missed meeting in person. You never know ... maybe we'll have that pleasure in the future. I would love to stay in touch.

I don't know what I would have done without all of you. I learned so much from all of you. Just having all of you to share stories and having the pleasure to talk to you daily has been a true gift. God bless you all.

Wasn't it just the most amazing experience!
I've been so tired & emotionally drained since I got home. Seeing my son after 11 weeks was so wonderful.
What hit me the most is how tall he is now. He's always been a tall drink, but he stood so much straighter & prouder than he ever has. He slouched i guess, but I never realized how much. Walking up to him after the graduation, I felt so dwarfed. My young man has changed so much. Yes sir, thank you sir; so many things that I tried to teach him that he never paid attention to. I still can feel that feeling about how tall he seems now.

I love Sobe's story about the airport. I wish I would have stuck around for that.
She has some awesome pictures on her FB. She has a picture of the sailors coming in through the open door; it gave me goosebumps all over again! Sobe, have you put it on here?
there were so many people that I wanted to meet; but funny how once you get your kid/husband/bf/so back in your clutches, none of that matters. I'm thinking that you all can relate to that.
This site was a godsend to me the last several weeks. You all have been such terrific support in every way. Even though many of our sailors went in different directions, I hope to be able to find you again & keep tabs on you & yours.
