Shelly, a quote from my first letter... " on the bright side, I get to wear these cool glasses and my haircut makes me look like a monkey." I think he was trying to be funny, and to me - it was funny! :-) The hair will grow out - some year! lol! If that is the greatest worry, then they are doing great!
And Paula, I'm jealous! My son hasn't yet given me such great details! sigh. I know my nephew was the leader of the leaders (beats me what the title is supposed to be) and he loved it! He got all the extra yelling, etc, but also the extra rewards, and mostly, the extra pride. :-) He will be at James' PIR with us and is very excited about it!

rs1206 I wonder if Jason knows Ethan. Ask him if he knows the guy from texas that does the laundry. Ethan was so upbeat last night and I also got a Mothers Day letter today. he said that if Megan and I had nto sent him our countdown calender he would have never know that it was Mothers Day. he mailed my letter out last Thursday but stressed that he will write when he can because this is Hell Week and he is not going to have much time. he actually ended my letter say that he was loving this place. I am so proud of him for doing his best and hanging in there because I have always told him we can accomplish anything we set our mind to. I guess he is listening. He told me Battle Stations is on the 2nd. Now I am wondering if they wil be giving the I'm a SAILOR CAll on the 3rd when most of us are flying up there. I told him when my lane takes off and when it lands and to pray to god that phone call falls any where around those two hours, Does anyone know what a cell phone does on a plane? Would it hurt if I left it on vibrate!!!! My vain son also told me about the crappy hair cut they gave him because they do not care what He has always fussed over that hair for hours. I bet it is driving him crazy.

I think it's different for every ship and div. He was down when he had his wisdom teeth out and light duty so, I don't know if it will continue but I hope so!

MV-Boones Mom I agree, these guys are really rising to the challenges and I am so proud of them all. Such hard work to make these boys and girls of ours into Navy Men and Women!

Does anyone know if a M&G has been set up for PIR 6/4?

Paula, this is so great to hear! Our guys are really rising to the challenges, aren't they? My son is in 203, and we've not had the numbers of letters you've had (my DiL has received 3 as of today (the 10th), but my son is also extremely upbeat and enjoying it all according to what he has written. Counting the days until I can hug his neck again! Thanks for sharing your news, Paula and Jenifer!!!

Hi Everyone- Have been receiving letters about every other day now received one Saturday he was talking about his which bank account he set up, life Insurance bouught us a Division T-Shirt wants Chicago Deep Dish Pizza! Said he gets yelled at more often and punished because he is a section lead but he loves it! Todays letter said they had basic Seamanship training preparing for battlestaions. Friday had their 2nd Physical Fitness test at 4 in the morning and weapons turnover inspection and Friday was the start of Hell week drew a pic of where he will be standing so we knew where to look for him at graduation, I guess he didnt want us to miss him!

Said he would write again on Sunday dont expect he'll be writing on Tuesday and Thursday this week if it is Hell Week but you never know! My son is in Div 202 like Jens they pretty much say the same thing sounds like everything is going well. Counting the days and Graduation gets closer everyday!

In my son's last letter he said that they could now write a bit on Tuesday and Thursdays.

Clandy, did your husband say how he gets to write so often? My fiance is still saying he can only write on Sundays.

I"ve received LOTS of letters and my husband has not said anything about "hell week" maybe something in this weeks letters will say something. I know he said they were going to have another test here in the next week (he wrote that on may 5th). I hope they get through this quickly and they do well so that they can call home. It really helps to pass time when you hear from them and you look forward to it!!!

Jen...thanks from me ,too. If we put all our letters together we get quite a bit of information. I wonder if that's what they had in mind when they created this site!
