I have a three and half year old that I drop off at pre-school and everytime I see the ladies working there, I think I've missed my calling!! I work for attorney's which at times can be quite humorous, but stressful at the same time!! Jamie is worried about his sister missing him and he mentioned her several times in his letter. Funny thing is, when I was pregnant with her he was 16, so that was gross to him. However, she now has both of my boys wrapped around her finger. He is going to miss so much being away in the Navy, but thank goodness for Facebook!! Receiving letters from the kids has got to make your son smile from ear to ear!!

GoDOgs....I know just what you mean. I have been doing the same thing with my letters to my son. I have been very careful with what I write. It sometimes sends me into fits of writers block. There is so much for him to miss here that he won't have any opportunity to experience in the Navy. My job and his past job experience is working with young children. (I am the executive director of a preschool and afterschool/camp) They love him and miss him very much as I am sure he does also. I don't think there will be any opportunity for him the connect with that age bracket for many years. I wonder how he is dealing with that. Many of them are sending him letters and pictures.

We got our phone call yesterday evening. Another wisdom tooth patient to add to the list. His were extracted on Tuesday. As he was telling me about it I was so sorry that we didn't have that done before he shipped out. All four were still below the gums and one had to be broken to get it out. The roots were hooked. And, of course, he was awake for the experience. Lordy. He also mentioned getting fitted for uniforms and that his division got a flag. It was a quick call because I hadn't sent enought phone card minutes and he still needed to get ahold of his dad and a friend. Since his sister and her 2yr old aren't going to PIR he was trying to line up a couple of friends that had been interested. So, I'm off today to get a couple more phone cards. For all of the questions I thought I was going to ask and things I wanted to tell him, my mind went blank so I'm really thankful that we N4Ms all have each other to fill in the blanks.

Eight letters is so cool!! It seems like our boys in Division 206 are doing good. I was trying to be very careful what I was putting in my letters because I didn't want to make him homesick anymore than he already was, but it looks like he is coping pretty well. He's even keeping a day counter until graduation in his notebook.

Well all together my family received 8 letters yesterday. E is doing well and really loves BC. He got his wisdom teeth out on Monday and said stitches in the mouth really suck but that the vicoden was really helping. He really seems to have alot of respect for the RDC. He is Laundry Petty Officer which is funny because he never did his own at home. God I am so glad to have heard from him and that he sounds so upbeat. He said the days go by like minutes but the nights give him to much time to think.

Happy Saturday Everyone! It’s much better now that we’ve gotten a letter from our son. He sounded so upbeat! He opened his letter by saying “I’m still alive. LOL” In a nutshell he said their division has a saying - we’re either going to be disciplined or going to be strong as hell. So far it looks like he’s going to be ripped! They have what’s called a Beatdown or Ass Kickin!! IT is intensive training. He doesn’t seem to like those too much! Everything is changing. The way he walks, talks, writes, dresses, folds sheets, even his diet. No cokes or sweets since he got there. He seen his division go from 72 to 68 in four days. One poor guy slipped and fell in the shower and broke his arm. Jamie said it was the worst sound he has ever heard. His bunkmate is an 18 year old from Las Vegas. He said he’s just a baby. LOL. Jamie is ONLY 20. He tries to stay low, but became a Section Leader in formation. It’s o.k., but the kid behind him his killing his heals!! He said he misses us so much and said you don’t realize how much you love your family until your detached. Awww… He thanked me for the letters and pictures and called them big morale boosters. His RTC does watch when they open their mail. No food or dirty pictures. Like his mother would send him those! Have a great weekend everyone!

So, does anyone else have a loved one in Ship 7 DIv 203? or is my husband in his own Div? ;)

We got our first letter today!! My husband read it to me over the phone and it sounds like Jamie has kept his sense of humor! What a relief!! I will post the contents tomorrow since I'm headed to see our Braves play tonight after work.
