I"m also a Nuke mom, and my son is in Ship 7 DIV 203. I'm on the opposite end, though, as I am hoping he is a grad-n-go. :-) He is married, and the sooner he leaves for GC, the sooner his wife and infant son will be able to be back with him...they are really missing him, too!!! Did you just call the recruiter, and he had the info???

That's right..it was therightthing. Thank you for responding so quick. I know I was also hoping to spend the weekend with him in Chicago. I called the recruiter and asked and he looked into it and called me back. Maybe you should call and not expect them to call you. I was so fine sailing along until I found out about the wisdom teeth and the grad and go. I really don't know if my son knows. I wrote him a letter today while I was in the car in front of the post office and I wanted to ask him if he knew your son but I couldn't remember his name. Please tell me again. Thanks.

Elizabeth...I'm the other Nuke mom. Sorry to hear hat the kids are off to A school right away.I was hoping for a day ...or two. Do the kids know yet? Our recruiter hasn't called. Let me (us) know if you hear anything else. Thanks!

Shelly: This whole wisdom teeth thing is freaking me out also. I had mine taken out last year and couldn't even begin to imagine not being under. Our son's are in the same division and we haven't gotten anything but the box and the form letter. I did send him envelopes and stamps on Tuesday. The not knowing anything is enough to make you worry!!

I so miss my son today. Reading all the post about wisdom teeth being yanked is freaking me out. He has all of his. I know that he is not scared of the dentist but I just pray that if he has them out that he does not have to much pain. I love rading everyones post about their letter and can not wait to be able to share mine.

Hi Everyone,
I can't remember who the other Nuke School Mom was but I just got a call back from my son's recruit and he said my son graduates on Friday and leaves for school Saturday morning. Very disappointed about that news. I was looking forward to being able to spend more time with him. He also said when he was in boot camp they took his wisdom teeth. Just a local and they "ripped" them out. Very insensitive of him. Does anyone know if that's still true that all they get is a local. I guess that's OK but I know I wanted to be put out and so did my daughter. I guess we were just a bunch of whimps. Well, I wanted to give the heads up to the other Nuke mom on here that her son may also be grad and go. SO sorry...

Katyjeanba, I got my second letter today! Yippee. Yvette says she has to wait until A school to get her wisdom teeth out because they are impacted. They got their butts kicked with IT (Intense Training) this morning. She's got a huge bruise on her arm where they took blood. She's sorry she didn't write more -- just two pages -- but they didn't get full holiday priviledge on Sunday but hopefully next Sunday they will. She's not worried about the book work, but somewhat concerned with the physical tests -- although I'm sure she'll do fine. She didn't have to get the BCG (those gross black eyeglasses they call birth control glasses) because her prescription was so mild she doesn't need them all the time. Usually just when she's driving. She got a little cold, but nothing major. Most importantly she loves me and misses me "lots". Oh, ain't life fabulous!!

My husband came home from his off site meeting and we have read the letter! He told me that it wouldn't have mattered if I'd read it first but after he brought it out to me I could see that it did make a difference. From the "Dear Dad" to the "Tell Mom I love her" he felt David speaking to him. On to Navy news. David 's boot is giving him a blister and the mornings are appearently a little rough. I'm gathering that there's a lot to do in a short amount of time. On the bright side he talked to some senior recruits that told him that once they're at this point, past the initial processing and medical exams, that it all goes by pretty fast. Given what elizabeth77's son wrote the days must go by in a blur. Elizabeth, thanks again for sharing you letter! My husband hadn't heard the term "pump and dump" before. He got a chuckle out of that.

Joshuasmom-- God bless you and your family. As you have said God is bringing him home safe to you. It sure is reassuring to know that the Navy MD's are so good. Amazing that they found it. Prayers to you all for him to succeed in all his endeavors’ in his future. I think everyone on this group would love and encourage to hear from you. Take care and we will hear from you soon!!

Thanks, therightthing..they are in the same division so I'm sure they know each other...I feel a little better today because I am sure it's all been done and it's over since that letter was written a week ago.
