Let's help those who are coming to PIR by themselves find each other so that no one is traveling alone from the airport to Great Lakes.

Sobe - yeah, its not quite like us nutjobs last week. Maybe they're keeping it quiet to keep the suspense going. and don't get me wrong; I have no problem & never did about you guys posting. I was planning the same thing if I'd had the first call.
I treated myself to the same thought about the kids buying us something, but I wonder what they all would have gotten for the exact same price. then I saw event, so unless they got us tickets to something; it must be for them. They - at least their division - were supposed to get their plane tickets today; but I wouldn't think they would have to pay anything for those. I don't know what else would be going on. Pizza party? They do get on tomorrow night. Still, 45 is steep for that. I can't figure it out either. The up side about them getting their plane tickets today is that they at least will know what time they are leaving on Saturday. I have begun to have this fear; I promised my daughter we would go shopping on Saturday & I'm concerned that his flight won't go out till 3 p.m. & I will have to abandon him at the airport. So, hopefully he will have an early flight.
So, what did you decide to wear to PIR anyway? You didn't get a haircut or anything? Just want to be sure that I can find you.
BTW, my version of the ribbon is just going to be a simple loop with a pin through the middle. No glue guns for me!

Hey JGoody - maybe our kids bought us something??? Okay, I can dream they did! I am trying to make my ribbon, but I'm not very crafty. Glue stick gun isn't hot enough. I make beautiful quilts, but can't make a silly ribbon! Need to pack up this pile I have in my home office. All of it is for my son, need to pack some stuff for me too - oh, and my husband too!

Not too many posts about calls - going to assume they are all so happy they can't type!

Calls coming in finally; congrats crimedog! round 3 come to a close. So we just have one more BS tonight :-) I know that the kids are so tired when they get done, but they are also pumped because they did it! Even 30+ years ago, I'm not sure I could have done what they did. Unless you count staying up all night with a sick kid in the same category? I may have done that once or 2x. Usually could catch a nap or 2 tho.

Gotta get packed tonight, laundry to do; will clean if I have time. Cut my work to 2 hours tomorrow; I just can't stay focused & the rest of my group is driving me absolutely crazy!! One of the girls just said this afternoon, oh you're off tomorrow & Friday? Whats up? Unbelievable! Had to wonder where her state of mind has been.
Just checked my son's bank account also. There is a $45 charge on his; just today still showing pending. Its listed as MWR Special Events. MWR isn't that something Wellness & Recreation? I went to refer to my flyer & I can't find it!!!!
Thanks, sobe, for putting up the honor grads.
Congrats to them & their parents, wives, etc

It's strange that the Navy can post the first and last names of Honor Recruits and Award Winners on their public site, but we can't post them here?? go to www.bootcamp.navy.mil , click on Families, Graduation, then Honor Graduates.

CONGRATS to those in Div 203, sounds like they did great Crimedog1

I was so happy to hear from my daughter...I'm at work but made sure I got the phone call. She called my work phone (but here I've been carrying the cell phone everywhere) so just lucky I was sitting at the desk! She said her Division 203 did great so that's good news.

Congrats Crimedog1 - Yippee! So glad for you and the other calls starting to come in!

Uniforms maybe?? Sweaters for the rain this weekend? Not sure what MWR means either, but I'm glad it's coming out of his checking account and not mine! I am reimbursing him for the pictures, since I told him to order them. Maybe I'll arm wrestle him for it!!!

Just got an email from RTC's website: A very nice woman named Sue replied that the names for the Honors list and Awards are being confirmed right now and the list should be posted by this afternoon. I sent a quick email back thanking her for her quick response (less than 5 mins!). I want someone like that working for me!!!
