Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Joel's rackie what state do you live in? I live in oregon and I don't know if that's why I haven't gotten mine yet. My SR is also in a different DIV (DIV 934) but mine arrived to bootcamp on 5/11 and I think that's around the time yours went. Also my SR is in a 900 DIV and from all of my navy friends and brother a 900 DIV is supposedly a little more relaxed. I hope I get mine soon makes me so sad. But I guess I don't care if mine come or if she can't write more then anything I just care that she is getting mine. I dont want my baby to go a day without a letter from me. I want her to know how much I miss her love her and believe in her. But I am so jealous of you and also very happy for you congrats.

I just had 3 friend requests from people wanting information on the ribbons to wear to PIR and when I accepted the first one the others disappeared. If you were one of them and I did not respond please send me an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com and I will email you the info for placing an order. Thanks so much :-)

WillsMom:  The emotional rollercoaster seems to affect not only the SRs but all of us on here too!  Hoping you have a good weekend and feel nothing but smiles and pride when you think of your SR....no sadness!

Yes, ohaos----I know what you mean.  Hard to predict flight prices...and I agree to to wait until about halfway through to book them.  I mentioned the booking of the larger hotel suites only because I have seen too many times on here where those needing them found them to be sold out.  Haven't seen where someone just needing a regular room had a problem by waiting.

Intersesting. I wonder what he's talking about. He must know something I don't then. I guess we will see but that would be cool!

The only time I have heard of them getting leave between bootcamp and A-school is if they have PIR at Christmas. But this is the Navy and things are ALWAYS subject to change lol.
