Karleen: I know it is never like they think, but I am sure he will love it. I am glad to hear you received a letter. I check the mailbox everyday. One of these days I'm gonna chase the mailman down and have him recheck his mail. I always hated checking the mail nothing was ever anything good out of it. But now I check daily. I'm sure he will be ok. Good Luck.

I got a letter from my son today. He said it's nothing like he thought it would be, but that he is hanging in there. Now I'm more worried than before. I'm glad we have this group of supporters.

Diannep: Thanks. I know that both my mother and father would not be able to walk that far.  They both have health issues. So more than a block would do my father in. Thank you very much for the information.

Susie:  The walk isn't that bad...you can see the PIR Hall once you walk in through the front gate over to your left.  I would say it is about 1/4 of a mile...but if they have trouble, there are sailors posted around with wheelchairs who would be glad to wheel them into the hall.

If you take a shuttle from the hotels to PIR, it only takes you to the gate is that correct?  How far of a walk from the gate to the PIR building? My parents are going with me and they can't walk vary far.

Lala-thanks for the info about the bleachers-makes a BIG difference!  I did book early and was able to get a kitchenette!  :)

Casual is correct and wind is correct lol, also you will be sitting on bleachers so keep that in mind.

Navy Lodge has kitchenettes for the same price if you book early enough.
