Attention JessicaBSailor, Lala, Betsy, and other veteran moms.  7/15 has formed.  So go ahead and join when you can!

I ditto Betsy's Residence Inn comment.  We stayed there too...but had the larger 2 bedroom 2 bath so it cost a bit more....Betsy had the studio unit.  Both come with full kitchens...the breakfast has hot and cold foods and is a buffet.  They are PET FRIENDLY so for those driving, bring your pets to reunite with your sailors.  It is in a nice quiet office park area, just down the road from the Walmart, where there are Springhill Suites and Courtyard Inn.  All are Marriotts and all have shuttles.  We used our AAA rate when there...be sure to check the PIR rate too.  We also were on the 6:30 shuttle and arrived in the hall at around 7.  Wouldn't do it any other way!

JessicaB, welcome back!

luvmyboy, The Residence Inn, Waukegan was very reasonable (I think we paid $79 per night) and they have a shuttle starting at 6:30a.m.  They have kitchens in the rooms and breakfast in the morning downstairs.  The shuttle was awesome!  We were in the hall early enough to pick any seat we wanted.  :)

The other great thing about you, JessicaB, is your posts are always helpful and positive.  I've seen some other veterans jump on newbies on other sites, but you are always kind in your responses and YOU ARE EVERYWHERE!!!  Lol.  That is GREATLY appreciated!  :)  The help you and Diannep and so many others offer is truly a God-send to us especially in those early days when we're wondering how we're ever going to learn to let go...

Everyone...JessicaBSailor is amazing and the one who posts so much helpful info.  She has been helping on here as long as I have...our sons started in the same PIR group (back in late 2009).  So please post questions and between Jessica, Lala, Betsy, and I...hoping we can keep you guys "in the loop!"

Thanks stepsyl. Letters are great but nothing like seeing and being with the real thing. We can't wait for PIR. Isn't the count down clock great?! I quote the days/hours/minutes and sometimes the seconds to my friends and family and they laugh at me thinking that I'm the one doing the count down.

That's great Nanette! I'm glad your SR is enjoying it. We're waiting for the first 'real' letter.
Comment by ProudNavyMomNanette on May 26, 2011 at 12:41am

Yay! We received our first letter from our SR. It was short just as I expected but it's nice to finally hear from him. He's enjoying BC more than he thought he would. Our letters are now criss-crossing paths across country.
