Well, I am happy that I received the form letter from my son yesterday. But I guess that the others in his division haven't received their letters or aren't on N4M yet? I sent him 3 different envelopes of the last weeks letters. I also sent his address to about 15 different families we know. I hope that he gets flooded with mail. He would love that. His sister even drew him the Navy Emblem for him. She loves to draw, I didn't think she would do that great of a job though. He will love it I'm sure?!?
Rackie: Great quote....
Karleen: You mean....held back as in-- taken out of their division? Or as in failing a final test? If you mean the latter, it is not so convenient. If they have not passed all tests by the time their division is going through BattleStations, you should get a scripted supervised call from your SR, saying that he/she didn't pass the ____, will not graduate, and not to come to PIR. Some are able to say that they have another chance to pass it, but most that I have come across say no PIR. This is not exactly true. They will be given chances to pass it up until the day before PIR. If they pass it then, they will call you and tell you and do BattleStations that night with the next PIR group...at PIR in uniform in the balcony (no marching) due to being up all night. Of course, that plays havoc with your travel plans. One N4Mom lady lived 6 hours away. Her daughter didn't call her until late afternoon the day before PIR saying she had passed her run. The mom said they threw their clothes in the car and headed to GL, arriving in the wee hours, but there for PIR.
So prayers that ALL pass their final tests in a timely manner so that travel plans can stay in tact!
If anyone is setback (asmoed) out of their division for any reason, you should get a call at the time that happens. That would mean that they are no longer in this PIR group. Once your SR is put back into another division (different PIR group), you will get another call with the new PIR date. This doesn't happen often...and if it does happen to anyone, don't worry. My son was asmoed for a week...and he did fine once back with another division. Once they are sailors, doesn't matter the road they took to get there!
Lala you said on the 4th or 5th week we would get a call from our recruit letting us know if the are a grad and go. When do we find out if they are being held back?
yep you can do that :-) You can also see them on my facebook page Unique Memory Makers, "LIKE" my page and you will be entered into a drawing for a free bundle pack of handmade scrapbook embellishments, also made by me. You can also email me at uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com
I will be away for a while this evening. We have an awards banquet to go to. My soon to be stepdaughter is receiving an award for her achievements towards becoming a county scholar and she is also being honored for being a Junior Marshall this year :-) That a good reason to go shopping right? We are very proud of her. I will be back later.
