@diannep- thanks so much for all the suggestions, these are HIGHLY appreciated :) I do the picture research and to making as inviting and representing as possible. Will need lots of help. @joel's rackie pls don't worry. He should be getting help on adding you cause my son was going to do the same. I'm sure there are people that went through that and will advise us what to do. The stress on loved ones will be something RTC will probably try ti minimize when it comes to financial and legal issues I'm sure. Thanks a'll and have a great day.

NYRican.  Thanks so much for starting this group!  I am a veteran mom who would love to help in any way that I can.  I will be dropping in to try and answer questions along with the other veterans.  If you want to add a profile picture to this page to replace the silhouette picture, google "Navy pictures," find one you like, save it, and download it!  You can pick any that you like and personalize the page!

You may want to add an administrator to this group....maybe "joel's rackie" would like to volunteer?  That way, GOD FORBID, if you have to leave the group, she can run it.  Hoping that is NOT the case...but it is always a good idea to have someone backing up the group.  She would have the same abilities that you do....to delete inappropriate posts (no last names of recruits allowed on this site!), add things to the page (like a countdown clock you all can add if you like), etc.  Praying for your SR that all will be good!

Thanks again!

I got a phone call too from my husband! I was just about to drive home from working the night shift when I received a phone call! At first I was nervous, thought he got hurt or in trouble. He said he is fine and doing well. The only thing is he opened a bank account tru the Navy, now the problem is I don't have a power of attorney. How am I supposed to have access on that? Oh no! i guess i just have to pull on extra shifts to be able to afford the trip to Great Lakes!

Hi. So I got my first call from Jay this morning. It was about 3 to 5 minutes long. I was super excited to hear his voice and at the same time I am torn becauses I'm pretty sure that if he called me, then he was not able to call his dad. He sounded super excited and extremely happy about his choice in his rating. It means soooo much to hear your SR say they are so excited about the job!

I did get one bit of bad news, so now on pins and needles to see if he will be discharged. My son has very bad eyesight but correctable to 20/20. Unfortunately there is a limit though in the Navy. During his physical here he barely made it through without waiver with his sight of -800/-800 (yes pretty bad eyes). Unfortunately at the med appt there it was rated as 865/9 something. So now he is the only recruit still wairing his own glassess and has to have other exams done and see if he will be given a waiver. I'm praying the decision is in his favor. He is smart, even turned down Nuke program for his curretn rate. Scored 99% in his ASVAB, and over 130 in DLAb, and is just so bright. Hopefully this will help in the Navy's decision. (So this is my down in the journey)
