OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

diannep: acctually my husband told me on the phone saturday they are the only people graduating on the entire base, they had them all in a room and made the ones graduating stand up and acknowledged them. i thought that was pretty cool.

also, I LOVE THAT THE CLOCK ONLY SAYS 2 DAYS! (i know theres the hours but its so awesome to only see 2 coming from like 40 something!!)

Rackie I love and totally comprehend and feel that C.S. Lewis quote. It's right on. This has been an incredible journey taken with plenty of comrades. Thanks.

Can the clock move any slower?  I swear the minutes are lasting for hours!

Rackie- you are too kind!  I too have loved the friendship and support I have found overflowing on this site.  Thanks for allaying my fears with good information and helping me get through this life change!  (not to be confused with change of life!)

I am truly looking forward to Thursday night to have faces to link with names!  What a great way to be introduced to Navy families-  I am so grateful!

chicinge:  Ask that question or RTC FB or have someone ask for you if you aren't on there.  Not sure about "active" Navy family being allowed to go to the back of RTC base, but maybe?

J'smom:  There are other gradautions...but not a Pass in Review such as this is.  The graduations are still greatly important as they are milestones for your sailors, but the PIR is just phenomenal.  Not that many parents attend the other graduations (none came to my son's) but some are able to be there so that's wonderful!
