From PA navy moms:  PRAYERS NEEDED!

Comment by Kim 16 minutes ago
A sailor has gone missing on my sons ship.  We where told it was a sailor who was working on the ship but not part of the ships company.  All outgoing emails have been restricted.  The search is ongoing.  I know I shouldn't worry but I will not rest until I hear from my son.  A search is underway.  Please say a prayer for the sailor.

Hi all

@Chicinge; my son says the same thing about getting paid to go to school. He is in Monterey, Cali for A school and is super excited about it too. He was told that the next iteration for his Language class doesn't start til 22 Sept, so surprisingly enough the Navy offered him to take summer college courses  until his class starts!! It was so amazing cause he is actually getting a paycheck to go to school, hahahaha, just unbelievable. And to boot, the the curriculum at DLI Monterey will actually give him an Associates degree upon graduation if he completes the college courses he needs. He would actually graduate with a degree in his Language of study upon completing the other college courses needed like the maths and the English classes. Jay just couldn't be happier with his decision at this time. As a mom I'm just so happy and proud of him, couldn't be more proud and happy at this time.

TickledTink-I am not sure what class my son is in, but I know they moved him classes and he will not be starting until Aug. 1.  It is an adjustment, but he can call you and communicate with you.  That will help.  At least he has a date to look forward to seeing you! Congrats on your expected baby!!  My son seems to be doing well, but he is staying in his room a lot. Maybe he is just enjoying som down time.

waybigsmil- my hubby is at Ft Sam Houston for HM school.  He is in class 195b and will be starting up soon to graduate Nov 1st.  So glad he will be done with plenty of time before the baby should be born!

He's having a bit of a hard time adjusting since it's such a culture shock from RTC and he misses me soooo much.  I'm going to visit him on Aug 5th, can't wait to see him!

Hi everyone! I haven't been in here for so long. I didn't bring my laptop, no space since I have to bring a lot of stuff for Joel. I am still here in Chicago, missed my flight last Tuesday. Good thing I have family here, Manang Frances, Manong Alvin and their kids. Since I'm not working this week, I decided to extend my visit until Friday. I haven't visited them since 2008. A lot has changed since then.. Matthew 16, is a grown up now. I used to baby sit him to CA for a month vacation every year. Brushing his teeth was a pain, so I let him brushed mine while I brushed his teeth at the same time. LOL! He loves piggy back rides too, so I do that all over the place, well he is much smaller then age 3-8. Now, he barely gives his aunt a hug... But he made me breakfast:coffee and shrimp-veggie omelet. SO sweet! I have 3 nieces too, Rachel 7, Jordan 5, Sophia 3. They are so hyper active! We played dress ups, board games, visited the park, bowling, biking and anything else the girls could think off! Gosh!!! I'm enjoying my time with them sooo much!! Two more days with the girls.. If only work schedule could be much better, I'd be coming here to visit more often!

NYRican- so glad your son is settled and liking his new home.  They just love the additional freedom! (and the view of the Gulf is not bad either!) Do you know when you are going to see him?  You have a nice trip to look forward to!

We are waiting to visit my sailor until he has phase 2 at least.

It's great to hear from you.
