Thanks for the BattleStations 934 date confirmation, Z'sSweetie!
You are very welcome, J'sMom.
Ephesians 3:17-19
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (NLT)
Prayers for your recovery Navyrocks..

We pray for blessingsJ'sMom: There is a group on here called "Mollys Adopt a Sailor Project" that you may want to look into. They specialize in sending care pkgs to the sailors.
Once your sailor is at A School, you are allowed to send them care packages. If your sailor knows some others there who don't have any family supporting them (surprising how many don't), then maybe your sailor can give you names and you could send them some too---or "muster up" a group of ladies in your A School group who could help with this---Molly's group may do this as well.
I know what you mean about doing some things at bc differently....but we think with a "mom's heart" and I would imagine the RDCs can't do that...they have to make them know that the Navy comes first...always. So, bottom line...they are saying: You must pass this to become a sailor which is your goal. Family comes second to that.
They DO use seeing their families as motivation for the SRs to get it done....just a bit differently than we probably would as moms...we would probably try to "reason" with our SRs on how they can accomplish this----RDCs don't waste words: Just do it! :-) They do wonderful jobs----look at all of the sailors that they turn out each week? FanTASTIC!
Sad, but true...if we want to maintain our strong military--it is "no nonsense.". I so admire military families as it takes so much sacrifice and effort to balance the two (Navy and family)...and "patience" must be their "key" word!
I totally support our military and i get what they must do. But what about the emotions and feelings on the other end? It is bad enough for recruits no doubt to have to make that call home very quickly but i know my boy anguished at this since im am still going thru B cancer treatmnet and the meds alone play with my emotions and im praying he is holding strong(his voice still had strenght) God give him courage & strenght as well as all our kids on here.
Thx everyone for listening, I am glad your all here, i will be ok!
J's Mom: Totally agree that the "motivational" call----won't graduate, don't come up--is not so fair for families. UGH! So many cancel if we can't get info to them in time that the call wasn't the entire truth! Other RDCs allow them to call home and say they have more chances, but more often...it is the "don't come" call. Can you imagine how devastated they must feel making that call? But then they are made aware of more chances...you just may not be made aware!
navywife: Ask your question on the "wives" group on here if you haven't already. They would have more info on that if no one here does.
Great pik, Z'sSweetie! What a treat for you!
Karleen: You can private message names on here...just no posting of them. If you need to send a message out to the group about something, use the "Send Message to Group" option above and to the right.
Your son is absolutely correct that his buddies have time to get this done before PIR!
