Heidi:  Yes you can meet them at the airport on Sunday as well.  Just remember...USO at Midway is past security so your sailor needs to meet you before security...shouldn't be a problem.  Sailor goes with you to airlines counter to obtain a gate pass.  USO at Ohare is before security so no issues there.

Sorry, J'sMom/slwag...I didn't get your questions from yesterday until now.  J'sMom:  So glad you got the USO info as that is normally where you meet them at Ohare...and posted for slwag!  Sounds like you are on your way to being an excellent "veteran mom" on the future PIR groups!

Hoping all went well for you all to meet up and visit with your sailors!

J'sMom: So glad that you enjoyed the "goosebump" moments!  PIR is something else, isn't it?  I tried to explain those moments to my sailor son...I think we ladies see it differently that they do.  HA!

? how about the ones flying out Sunday morning, can we meet up with them at the airport also?

Comment by seabee_wife92 on July 8, 2011 at 9:12pm

Quick Question.. My husband told me hes flying out tomorrow, and that I can meet him early in the morning at the USO, but silly me forgot to make sure that hes flying out of O'Hare, and I just want to see what the likelyhood would be that hes leaving from Midway.. any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Diannep - Can you give us any help?  Our Sailor told us that he would be flying out tomorrow at 2 - we know where he is headed but we have no idea where to go to try to find him.  Can you give us any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you.

J'sMom:  Just enjoy the day with him at the airport.  I missed this with my son because I was such a newbie, I didn't know we could do that.  Was thankful that other parents were there.

You will be so touched by how the people at Ohare treat their sailors flying out. Many times, standing ovations for them when they board.  Sorry I missed that...I have heard that it is another tearful moment for families watching it!
