Noelle:  If they are in a "special room", it is possible that they are on a charter flight---did he say?  Hoping that is not the case because if so, he is absolutely correct.  No visits with those on a charter flight.  But if he is on a domestic flight, you should be able to visit with him.  They are "detached" from RTC then.  Usually you meet up with them at the USO (Ohare)...or if at Midway, in front of security since the USO is past security in that airport.

Yes, navyrocks.  You can get a gate pass from their airlines.  Only time you can't see sailors at airport is if they are on a charter flight. Sailor has to go up with you to counter for your to get gate pass...have ID for all who need them.

my nuke ship 12 Div 223  as of yesterdays letter says after grad they are suppose to have leave till 02100hours ,then has been told 0230am they will wake them up

for 530am to airport flight.  Hoping we can all confirm if they will let us be w/them with a gate pass, I emailed the Ohare port authority asking about Gate Pass and of course i was told would have to contact the airline, I have no clue

He also did say his Nukes just had a "Special"meeting w/a chief about there A school(he missed it as he was in SIQ, He was so disappointed he missed this briefing and hopes there is another one.

I got a letter from my son on Wed. It says he is leaving @ 0100 on the 9th. SOOO upset, i wanted to spend time with him and we have so many family members coming in from all over to see this. He said we can say goodbye at the bus that takes him to the airport but not to go to the airport as they will be escorted to a special room where we are not allowed. I guess I will be trying to find something fun to do in Chicago for the remainder of my time there..I don't leave until Monday. Hopefully he had the date wrong or it will change..anyone else from ship 3 div 221 have a SR in the Nuke program that says they are leaving at 0100 on the 9th??

@Heidi, I just googled boot camp questionnaire then used the N4M link. There are a couple choices. You can modify it to suit your SR too.

They usually tell you around the 4th or 5th week. Sometimes sooner. But even if they say they are leaving in the early morning hours on Saturday those plans can change and they could get the whole weekend. That is why we suggest to plan to stay through Sunday just in case. :-)

Cas1, what is the questionnaire that you're referring too? It sounds like a great idea. I'd love to send it to my son.
