For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by navynrocks (1201M) on June 11, 2011 at 2:41pm: your welcome joe'ls rackie and like diannep says KEEP them letters going, my recruit tells me this everytime via phone & letters , he was never one to write letters or talk on the phone & now its a Given he does both and wow has his penmenship and just overall more respect comes. This is do to the Navy no doubt.

they get razzed if the envelope looks funny or anything drops out ,guess they have to open there mail in front of the RDCs

Comment by TickledTink on June 10, 2011 at 5:43pm: Yeah I just find it weird, since the letter #2 he received 2 days after I mailed it. So it's just totally inconsistent I guess. He called today for a quick minute because he needs his college transcript faxed over.

It sounds like the Sr's aren't getting letters on a regular basis. I write every other day and my son has only gotten a few of them. I guess its the military mail!

Comment by Lorie on June 10, 2011 at 9:53am: I got a letter AND phone call yesterday!!! He sounded pretty upbeat. I think he is ready for bc to be over and done with. He also had his wisdom teeth pulled.
