Calls COULD come in earlier today since it is the day before PIR.  So phones in the bras, ladies!  You don't want to miss it.  But Olive is right...normally they start around 2 pm GL time and go for a long time. A missed call could mean that your sailor had watch. etc.

Safe travel for all of you today.  Congrats!

J's mom--completely forgot to ask my son when his BS ended yesterday morning. About the phone call--it seems that the calls starting coming about 2:00ish central time (just from what I've read on different groups). But, my son wasn't able to call until 4:55, and we only got to talk with him about 7 minutes. I think this is unusual--he told us he was supposed to get 30 minutes. (as luck would have it, he had to meet with someone about his "A" school during the time of his division's phone call time!) All this to say, don't fret if you don't hear from your new sailor when people start posting that they've received the call!

I cannot sleep and I feel sick to my stomach. For past week I don't know what it feels like to sleep. I know my SR is on his last hour or so in battlestations and that is all I can think about. I hope everyone has a safe trip. I'm a mess and hope I can keep it all together tomorrow! I've never been so excited and don't know how to handle myself ;)

Good luck to the last group running Battlestations right now!!  Still have my flameless candle lit for you!  As for me, I STILL have yet to pack and I leave for the airport in about 14 hours!

I've kept this page up all day on computer...I think I've developed a case of OCD, as I found myself unable to stop checking for new posts and information every 10 to 30 minutes! I know it's really because this group is a wonderful touchstone for me...as we are all in this together and this is as close to my son as I can get right now (except for those few phone calls and letters!). So, finally packed and going to bed to get a few hours of (hah!) sleep, then up at 5:00am for all day drive! I hope to meet some of you...we're going to try and make the meet and greet, but not sure we'll make it up there in time. Go 225, 226, and 815!

Yeh, made it safe and sound. Checked in to the Navy Lodge. They still have the heater on and it's July! Hopefully get to see the area in daylight tomorrow. If they still keep it this hot might have to check out and check in to a place that is much cooler. Gosh so happy to finally be here for PIR!!
