Hi Cindy,
The fires are up here in No. CA, although they had a couple in So. CA. Seems the whole state is on fire. My niece moved to So. Cal from Vermont, it was her first earthquake also. 5.4 is a pretty good shaker, fortunately no one was hurt. Glad to hear from you, haven't seen your post for a couple days. It gives me chills to see 16 days, can't wait! Do you think they will get a call after battlestations?
Maripat - I guess she'll have a story to tell the folks. She probably thought she was having car problems.

Helen - thanks for the good wishes. We are in No. California and I understand no one was hurt.

I keep the Mother's Day card I received from my kids next to my computer. I can't open it, it makes me cry but I like to look at it. What a sap I am!
Helen - we received the name tags today, they are so wonderful. It just reminds me how close we are. I'm going to pack them right away so I don't leave them behind.
I live for Thursdays - letter day. I don't know how my office staff live with me. I even told my dental hygienist my son is in the Navy.

Wow, 50! Helen, you are a whiz! I'm going to wear mine as soon as I get there so others can identify me.

Hi Helen,
Did you get my envelope? Did I enclose everything I was supposed to, I can't remember anything anymore.

I agree on the writing. I was thinking the weekend before I would stop. I had no idea our lives were so boring. I'm down to sending baseball scores from the newspaper. We host National Night Out in August so I'm going to have everyone who comes write a line or two, especially law enforcement since he was a cadet. Maybe one of his cadets will come.

Ginnie and Robin - congrats on the phone call. Alan called at 9:40 PST, I ran in to get on the computer and Justin had already called. He said they share a ship with the women, but he didn't know Allison-with-no-pants. I'm so glad she finally got her clothes. He had 10 minutes to talk and my husband was here and we put him on speaker phone. It's so good to hear his voice, even if he has the worst cold of his life.

Sonja - I can't help but think they are doing a bone density as a precaution. It would be unlikely she would have a problem at her age. I'm praying she's fine and Morgan too.

For PIR I am wearing a sundress and sandals, unless it rains. I have ordered my proud navy mom shirt online and will wear it to Flannagan's. I made my husband go shopping so he would having something to wear besides his shorts with the big grease stain! Sorry for the long post.

Alan said there were plenty of thunderstorms, which he thinks a are really cool. We don't get those out here, at least not the same intensity. He thinks it's not too warm, but we're used to over 100 degree summers here.

Hi Moms,
We got letters today. He sounds really great and is having fun most of the time. His division won the scholastic flag and he said he has girls in his division. He says they all have colds.
I couldn't get to my computer all day as I was at a trauma summit, I had withdrawals. I hope you all get letters today or tomorrow. It's good to hear that he's doing well and I can't help but think that all our kids are doing well this week.

Hi Ginnie,
No word this week. I'm hoping for a letter tomorrow, it seems to take sooo long, doesn't it? I can't wait to flip the calendar from July to August.
