Liberty is different than Leave. Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved. Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

I just turned on the TV, and 10News was welcoming home the USS Carl Vinson carrier.....and who do I see on screen?!!??!!!! Janna and Chris!!!!!!!! Some Navy moms made a collage picture and they were holding it up. 10News got a close-up shot of it. I'll post a pic of it. Small world!!!
Janna prayers to you and your family.
Mourning. (when will I learn to re-read what I've written prior to hitting the "send" button?!??) ugh.
Janna- I'm so sorry for your family's loss. On Easter Sunday we flew out to Illinois for my mother in law's funeral. The Red Cross made things smooth for Mike to take an emergency leave for the funeral. Within several hours Mike was able to fly out from Norfolk base to meet us in the midwest. The Red Cross works closely with the military branches to make things official as far as releases for funerals, emergencies, etc... They just need a little info prior to contacting the Navy's leaders so they can release them. Mike took PTO of 7 days for funeral and spending time with our family in morning. Is Miranda back from vacation with her brother? Again Janna, my deepest sympathies to you all.
We went to Virginia to see kids for Mother's day. Daughter came down form Maryland so we were all together. Had a great time laying a new floor in their kitchen! Went out for a brunch so no one had to cook. It was good to spend time with them.
Lauren-Let me know which ship and is it out of Norfolk? M & J live half way between Norfolk and NAS Oceana. Jess' Aunt is assigned to the Wasp-I think, out of Norfolk. Lots of Navy in the area between the 2 bases.
Not much else new. Mom has been in hospital since she fell 2 weeks ago. She had a concussion and some broken ribs, but is too weak to go home yet. She may end up in rehab for a short time.
Good to hear from everyone, hard to beleive it has been two years!!
finally got a happy mothers day text:)
Where does Chris's carrier port out of?
Janna, how long is the TC if they are going from Hawaii to ?
hi:)jut checkingn in to read all your news. not too much is happening for Charlie. he has been on a short underway. Then a few weeks in san diego. He's back in WA.
I hope you all had a nice Mother's day:) My daughter cooked me breakfast:) A message from my son would have been nice :(. I am still waiting for that.
It is HOT here again. you know me still waiting to get to the beach...now its been 4 years. I will not live here forever. You are right trish i think 80 is too cold for the water. i like 86 or higher:)
How cool! Welcome home to Chris and how great that Miranda will get to experience a glimpse into his life. Where he is stationed out of? I understand the the TC portion form HA is good, as they still have the aircraft on the ship, where the portion that I did, it was alreay off in San Diego.
