I hope that everyones mothers day was as amazing as you all are! We are coming up on almost 2 years since our kiddos left for BC and while we've watched them grow, and mature, Im sure that we think back to those days like it was yesterday. My youngest will be starting his senior year in a few months. Time really flies. Caesy sounds good, seems to be doing well and will be looking to strike a rate possibly in June. He is still undesignated, nothing has peaked his interest yet but he is doing security, which, he does seem to like. He still talks of trying again but I hope he doens't. I would hate to see him have to start all over again.
Janna - I know you can't mention dates but let us know when Chris is home from his deployment and please, give him my thanks. I know his sister is joining him for the TC and would love to hear her experiene. We are thinking of having Casey's brother do a TC on his next deployment.
its a 104 today, up to 107 this week. Pool is at 80 and I think I've lived here too long when I need it to be up a few more degress before I can think about swimming.
Young love...........the hardest thing for us as parents is to remember there are two sides to every story and perceptions are never the same between two people. They both need time, and while trust maybe an issue, he was hurt and with him being away, I can't imagine how hard it is to have the conversations that the two of needed to have regarding their relationship, I do believe that things will work out as they were meant to. Patience is so hard, its not what we are good at.
Lauren - very cool for Niko. My BIL is stationed in Hawaii and while he loves it, remember, he's deployed most of the time, so the surfing is what draws him in, my SIL HATES it. Its expensive, they really don't like non natives, she feels trapped on the island, etc. This is what our kiddos signed up for, chance to see and experience different parts of the world. ANd that will make it much easier for him to see you when he can.
I hate it when I miss a month of being here and then have 20 pages to read!!!
Lauren-when is Niko going to Oceana? That is where Matt and DIL are. I will let him know that Niko is coming.
Hope everyone has a nice Mother's Day!
Woah....wait a minute. So she's not going to be patient in waiting? Almost sounds like a veiled ultimatum? She obviously posted that so he could see that. Hmmm.
Wow! What a roller coaster of emotions for Chris! I think Chris is doing the right thing by taking his time. I would encourage him to keep doing that too. After all, at this point, there is absolutely no need for them to get married. This way they will both be sure.
Cathy - Congrats! That is amazing, you should be so proud (of the award, not skanky GF).
feeling disappointed. my son said weeks ago it was too late to sign up for tiger cruise, he was wrong of course, I checked the Nimitz group on N4m and they are all going. they just got approval etc,., too bad Charlie doesnt pay attention. :( sometimes i am just sad,,,,,
Wow....they showed up late because they both went to the gym?!?!? OMG! Trish, I swear....if I'd been there I would have encouraged you (more like BEGGED you) to start eating the bbq lunch WITHOUT those two inconsiderate bozos! There's always a few in every family, eh?
We just flew out to my mother-in-law's funeral this past week. Mike was able to meet us there in Illinois for the funeral. We were under tornado watch for a few days. Kind of scary for this old gal who's used to only earthquakes. (Shake, rattle, & roll)
They got here on Saturday, spent all day with them Sat, Sun and yesterday. Not ONCE did they ask how Casey is, whats he's up to, etc. I am beyond upset. Our kids are basially the same age, just months apart, so maybe there is a sense of competition but to NOT ask about someone in your family when you claim that that is the reason for your trip, to spend time with family. Bullshit if you ask me.
Oh, and maybe I need a bottle of midol, but I have this thing with being on time. It irrirates the heck out of me when people are late, I find it rude, time is not something that one can purchase, exchange, etc, once its gone, it gone. Long story short, my sister (stay at home mom) is always late. I was having everyone over on Sunday for a BBQ, time as at 11AM. Got a text from my BIL, said don't shoot the messegner, but we are running late, more like noon. WTH! COme to find out, her and my brother went to the gym that morning. GRRRRR....... I get it if you want to spend time together, whatever, but say that beforehand, and ask, would it be ok, don't just be an hour late! THis has gone on for years, and she laughs about it, says shes always late, etc. Just wait until the next "event" at her house, I am going to be late even if it kills me!
Just stopping by to say hi............HI! Missing Casey today, he's out for a short hop, they need to get some qualifications done before they leave on another 8 month deployment. He will miss Christamas again this year, oh well, guess thats what happens but it still sucks.
Starting to get hot warm here, up in the 90's. Have my brother and his family coming in for a visit next week. We refer to his wife as scary Sherri and thats being REALLY polite. Not looking foward to the visit, but I do want to see my brother and nephews, I just can't stand his wife. Oh well, its just for a few days.
