Thank you for the support, girls.  I really needed an outlet. He is definitely taking a paternity test once the baby is born.  His superior (just by a few ranks?) in other words....a guy in his early 30s....has "been there" before and gave him some advice:  Don't piss her off.  Be kind & courteous....or it can get really bad.  He must know something, huh?  Anyways, they were never really a couple per se, just hung out a few times. (that's all it took evidently)  She has invited him to next month's ultrasound to see how many weeks she is.  The thing is....she had just broken up with her boyfriend a few weeks prior....then two weeks after she "hung out" with M...she is now with a new guy.  (you see where this is going??)

I could strangle my kid.

I'm glad Chris is safe on ship. Breakups are always hard. It is a tough situation with him being half a world away. Hopefully his buddies will help him through it.  Weren't they scheduled for a June/July wedding?  I'm not sure when the timing would have been better to call off the wedding, seeing as he's probably on deployment right up until summer starts.  I guess this was probably the best time to call it off....versus later on.  Which might have been even more difficult.  Chris has a good heart and he will definitely find love again.

Well, since we're sharing:

I've got some bad news of my own.  My boy may be taking a paternity test in October.  Yes, another "baby drama".  We as parents are just sick about this.  This is an absolute first for either of our families.  I haven't told any family or  friends because of the embarrassment.  I'm old school and this is a source of great shame.  I know society has lost the embarrassing stigma of "out of wedlock"pregnancies....but I'm reeling from the shame of it all.

We've been doing the math....and it may or may not add up.  Stories keep changing.  Dates keep changing.

What gets me is the girl's mother is an "unwed mother" herself.  And the girl's sister is too!!!  So anyways....I've been crying like you wouldn't believe.  Our son has robbed us of the joy of our first grandchild.

What in God's name has our son turned into?  Since he's joined the Navy: He's started smoking, drinking, and now this!!?!!?  Where did we go wrong?  I'm really hurting.

Janna - I get that.  I wanted a picture of Casey so bad during deployment and nothing in the 7 1/2 months.  I knew the chances were slim but still hoped.  You will have to post it on here when it comes out.  So happy for you!

I feel the same way about my other group.  THere are a few that "run" the group and the rest of us, well, you may get a question answered or some response, and thats a big maybe.

Casey's ship had something going around and alot of the guys were really sick.  Once they went to medical, got some meds and some rest, they seemed to do alot better.  Casey was really sick for 2 days, and it took him about a week to feel somewhat normal.  He was also really dehydrated, which can make matters worse.

Comment by trisha on March 7, 2012 at 7:19pm

Oh, the alot of the guys ended up with the double dragon?  THere was a girl in our berthing area that was sick, on the toliet with a bucket in front of her, and your hearts breaks.  To be sick like that is hard, but to do so with no privacy, even worse.  Already lining up my care packages for the next deployment!

Back from my Tiger Cruise and while I was glad I did it, I wouldn't want to do it again.  There is a part of me that is even more proud than before, but the mom in me is now more worried.  The berthing areas are small, very cold and no privacy.  The food, very sorry to say, was not good.  I tried to understand that they were feeding so many people, but thats where the mom in me came into play.  The sailors kept saying, gosh, we are eating so good this week with tigers.  Hmmmm.......2 of the 4 mess halls were closed (why, I have no freaking idea), so you waited at least 45 minutes to eat and the food was really bland, hot food was maybe lukenwarm at best.  Those that work nights, don't get choices at night, they get sandwiches.  THe berthing area, crowded, no privacy and people are alwasy on top of each other.  Casey has had items stolen on this ship, which totally pisses me off, but I guess its his fault for not locking it up properly.  It was really cold, and when they don't work, they are either in line for food or sleeping.  There isn't a place to hangout per see, but it doesn't really matter, they work long hours.  There were several squirmishes and lots of heated words exchanged.  I get that this is what he signed up for, but it did break my heart to see that and to know that he has at least another 3 years left, with 2 short trips this year and another long deployment in a few months.  I can't say it enough how much the support of home means to these guys/girls.  I found myself tech starved, and again, that was only 4 days.  Next person who tells me Im lucky that my kid is in the Navy, is going to to get an ass kicking!
