Just got back from Vegas.  Froze our butts off!!!  Trish, let me know what hotel you work for and I'll send you a list of possibilities of hotels (or sister hotels?) that are in the area by Casey's ship. Mike's flying in this week and I got a ton of stuff to do.  We took back our pre-lit christmas tree from Costco because after 2 Christmases, the bottom half of tree lights wouldn't light up.  Or if they did....it was flashing like a discotheque!  Costco is awesome about returns.  They really are into keeping customers happy.  So....I guess I'm off to get a "real" tree at Home Depot tomorrow.

Heading to Virginia Beach to spend Christmas with son & DIL and daughter and 2 dogs!!  Should be fun.

We went to see Celtic Woman in Pittsburgh last night.  Great show!  They are always enjoyable on PBS but they are better live.  We walked around downtown and lookeed at all the lights, very pretty!

I am now in more of a holiday mood!  Heading home after work to start baking some cookies.  This time of year is when I miss my kids the most.  We use to have a great time getting all the decorations out and baking cookies...Oh well, I can do this !!  Right??

Sylvia - I will be in your neck of the woods in Feb, when I meet up with Caseys Ship.  ANy suggestions on where to stay close to where the ship will be.

Charlie Browns CHristmas special was on last night and yep, I cried.  I saw Santa at the mall, and all I could see was my little Case, sitting on his lap, running down his list and letting him know exactly WHY he deserved what was on his list.  I already know that he will be on deployment again next christmas, so that kinda bummed me out.  He does seem upbeat and settled into Navy life.  He is taking advantage of what they have to offer, said he is starting to take his college core classes in a few weeks.  HIs goal is to have all core classes done with, and the car paid off before h e gets out, becuase he really wants to go to college.

Hope everyone is doing well, Im freaking FREEZING!  Guess you could say that my blood has definately thinned over the years and acclimated to the HOT climate.

Happy belated B'day, Joy....and post those pics of those cute grand puppies soon, before they get huge!

Lauren: Tell me about it!  I've gotten so sentimental lately with every friggin' Christmas song I hear.  "I'll be Home for Christmas" just makes me lose it. I"m so happy that Mike is coming home next week!

Joanne: I can't recall if Charlie is coming home for the Holidays or not?  Hope he is.  When was the last time you saw him?

Janna: Every time Chris' ship leaves or comes into port, I think of all of you guys. I wish Mike was on Chris' ship here in San Diego.  Hope Chris' deployment is a short one.

Trish: Good luck with the car buying.  Mike went car shopping with one of his senior leaders (a kid in his upper 20s...early 30s?).  Told him just to look around, but wound up getting a good deal.  Guess this senior guy has done this car buying stuff with other sailors.  Good to know there are guys looking out for each other.  We found out his old State Farm car ins (thru us) won't work for him.  StateFarm agent said each state is its own entity.  Good luck to Case.

Lmao!  I hope you told him, "No turkey for you now, buddy!" lmaoff!!! Ahhhh.....the 80s. Big hair and leggings.

Casey is buying a car.  He has his schedule for the next year and when hes done with this deployment, he goes on several small ones and then another long one.  CHristmas will be hard this year, just one child left at home.  Seems so quiet anymore.  :-(

Lauren - when does Niko get home for the Holidays?  You have to be so excited!

JoAnn - I am freezing my butt off!  Husband made the comment last night, I was cold and went up to snuggle for warmth and when I did, he jumped and said, Honey you butt is as cold as a butterball turkey.  LOL.  Duh, thats why I was trying to get warm.  Going to have to go shopping for a winter coat, mine from years ago is so out dated, I would need to put on my leggins, with leg warmers and tease my hair for that to fit in now.

Thanks-Trisha

Another funny story-Hubby and I sing with a group and our concert is this weekend.  Last night we went to warm up before hand and I needed a drink of water so I went out in the hall to get it and realized the whole group was in the room singing happy birthday to me!!! lol
