Hey girls:)I had my hysterectomy last week and am now experiencing the joy of hot flashes.very weird. But I am overjoyed to never have the evil monthly curse again! Charlie is getting married tomorrow to a girl he et a while back when he was in Jacksonville. I don't think he's ready but they do what they want.:( Too bad his family couldn't be there. Needless to say he won't be home for Xmas for the first time in his life;(. Wishing all of you a blessed and happy holiday !!!!!

Well I see that I'm late to the party.  I got quite a jolt reading about Chris' witness to the hanging.  OMG.  Glad it turned out okay for the guy, but man....

Keith just got his first deployment USS Michigan sometime in Feb?  Dates unknown.  But he's coming home since the sub is based here in the Seattle area.  He will be forward deployed to Guam (whatever that means).

Congrats to all the new grandmas and parents of the grooms!  Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Update on life.  Stepson is doing well, he is still doing his outpatient therapy daily, but is refusing to consider AA, he doesn't buy off on the whole "god thing" which is really difficult for his Dad and I, but, at this point, not going to push it, just want him better.  He's been sober 38 days, and he looks amazing.  I hope and pray that he continues on this path.  Without the girlfriend and other friends influence (when they broke up, turned out they the friends were really HER friends), he alot more positive.  He is working, cooking at an Italian Restaurant and really likes it.

Casey obviously is still deployed, this will be his second year on deployment for the holidays.  Sucks, but what can you do.  He seems to be doing ok, counting down until he gets out,  Yep, no re-enlistment for him.

Preston, the youngest, and our baseball player, signed his committment letter to UNM to play baseball, so everything is now OFFICIAL!  We are super excited, the scholarship offer was amazing and to be given the opportunity to play D1 ball right out of high school, he's stoked.  Me, hard year, my youngest is getting ready to fly the coop and its' harder than I thought it would be.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving and the holidays are as stress free as possible.

Hi everyone!!! I know I haven't posted in a very long time!!! I still follow and see posts thru my email.  We are gearing up for the holidays and for the first time since Joey joined the Navy he will be here for the holidays.  Actually the day after Christmas but close enough.  He was in C school and last year he was deployed.  He is doing well. He was protmoted to E4 this year and is looking for another advancement this spring.  His squadron is busy they are under manned bc as Joey put it " people are doing dumb stuff and getting thrown out of the Navy"  so he is working alot.  He is reenlisting this Jan.  bc you have to let them know 18 months in advance.  He is truely not a school kid.  So as of now he will stay in the Navy.  Im lucky bc I am not having any girl drama or anything else.

At home its a big year for us our daughter is in her senior year was named the captian of the cheerleading squad and we are filling out several college applications. Our son who is sophmore started several varsity football games and will letter this year.  He will be our starting safety next season.  He plays jv basketball too. So as you can imagine we live at the high school.  It will be soo great that Joey will get to see them doing the stuff while he is here.

I still talk to Joann several times a day. I went to AZ to see her and had a blast. Trying to get her to come her next summer soo we will see.

As the year winds down I am soo blessed to have great kids, hubby, and friends. I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season and a great new year.

My heart broke reading your post.  I hope that Chris finds some comfort, that without him, at that exact moment, his friend would not have made it.  I hope that his friend gets the help that he needs and that this opens the eyes to those around him, to realize just how serious this is.  I have read several articles on how often this is occuring, but its just kind of shoved under the rug, not talked about.

Prayers to Chris, his friend and his friends family.

Well, it's been a long time since I posted - glad to see you all are still here.  Keith is still in training, yes, 2+years and counting.  Now in Saratoga Springs NY in the nuclear power program, this is his last training section (I hope) - the chemistry part of the plant.  He lives alone in an apartment, is top of his class (not that it really matters), seems to be lovin' it, almost time for reinlistment (already??) and he hasn't even been on a ship.  Didn't get his leave slip signed in time so missed coming home in between training sessions.  Can't remember if I posted that he broke his leg after getting hit by a car last spring - he ended up having a rod put in his lower leg - all better now.  Talk to him every week on Skype, which is nice. Best wishes to everyone!

Thanks Janna.  I hope that I never, ever have to deal with this again.

Lauren - Did Niko make it home yet?  Sorry Ive been off the radar, just blows right now.  Casey is doing good, likes working in security but their admiral was replaced mid deployment and no one knows why.  Getting his Christmas box put together to send out next week.

Work is another stress ball right now. I love my job and hotel, but I'll tell you, some of the people out there are just downright rude.  And trying to hire anymore, Im amazed at the attitudes some people have.  Lets see, you barely made it out of high school, have had numerous jobs since or none at all, and Im supposed to do a freaking happy dance and pay you handsomely for that?  Try again.
