Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

See I knew I could count on you ladies to talk me down.LOL Im sure my son didnt even question or think twice about being told that. Makes sense about the phone call too. I didnt get one so he probably had watch (at least I hope so so we will go with that) and probably didnt ask if he could call. Im not changing anything even if I only get alittle time with him its better then none.

Way to go 285!! I wish I knew how our div was doing. I guess they are too busy messing with them for our kids to tell us anything. the farting thing is so funny because boys dont think twice about that. They think its soo funny. I have 3 here trust me there are days my daughter and I have to leave. I just tell her boys are pigs. LOL I will check back in later my best friend is coming over and she better have cake with homemade frosting or else!!!

Hugs to all of you too!!!

nikosmom-- thank you so much for sharing your letter! YAY for 285!!!! Love how they still manage to be boys with farting contests while in this transition to our navy men..LOL.. and so glad Nicholas is better! Maybe they can all hang on two more weeks and they can get out and get well. Hopefully I will have a letter tomorrow and will have more updates to pass on.

Joey's Mom-

I bet they are messing with him and yes that is such a terrible mind game to play. I would keep your plans the same.

Hugs for you. I know how worried you must be.

Nikosmom-

Thats awesome that 285 passed inspection with a 5.0 and they now have 6 flags. Way to go GUYS!!
Laughed at the (farting contest) ;-) boys will be boys.
I hate that they are still fighting illnesses while trying to get through boot camp.
Glad Nicholas's pneumonia is gone. Thank God!
I am hoping for a letter from James tomorrow and I hope he tells me that he is feeling better.

Proud to be a NAVY MOM!

Joey's mom----I really hope they are messing with him - and yes that sucks!! But I would still get the room anyway to avoid trying to find something at the last minute in case he only has to stand watch for a few hours- you just never know.

Cathy- I'll be 53 in December so yeah they are young. LOL I can't even remember how long I've been married! Lets see 82 form 10 is that 28 yrs? Seems like forever and only a day, kind of like boot camp!!
Joey's mom-I have errands to run after work, but will go home and check for letter first. I hope they are just messing with him. I heard of them doing that about them having stuff at A-School too. We can only pray that it isn't true.

Joey's mom....thanks for sharing your son's letter. I thought the exact same thing, "they are messing with his head". I don't think anyone has ever stood an 8 hr watch. From my understanding "a watch" ranges usually from 2-4 hrs. Maybe 6 at the most?? It seems odd that all of a sudden on graduation day the RDC is telling him he has to stand watch for 8 hrs plus?!! yup...sounds like he's playing mind games with him.
My son couldn't call because he had "watch" during that time and he approached an RDC about it and requested if he could possibly sneak in a few minutes to call home and the RDCs exact words were, "Sucks to be you!" Later on another RDC allowed him to call home. Good cop/Bad cop.....all mind games.

joeysmom-- dont panic! Ive had several other moms on here that has been there done that tell me to just plan my trip and dont stress over times..they may tell him that but it could change at any given moment. You just go see your boy and keep your room cause its worth the money to have it and be prepared if you can be there with him the next morning than trying to find one later. hang in there!!! we will all probably get crazy letters this week. Im just sticking to my plans of being and staying and will go with the flow when there.
