Yesterday I posted to a few groups about "body snatchers", these are the recruits who help monitor the sailors during the 1 1/2hr ceremony. Standing that long in formation can cause legs to go numb, so they are there to catch them in case the new sailor passes out (happens more often than you think). Our recruits are exhausted by PIR day!

Well folks, I goofed up. The "body snatchers" are not from the 800 divisions, they are the "non-performing" recruits of the 900 division. The non-performing 900 recruits also provide behind-the-scenes staff such as door openers on the quarterdeck; helping with refreshments at the post-reception for the Honor Grads/Award Winners; and rail guards in the bleachers (they're the ones instructed to keep guests from against the railing during the ceremony).

I had received wrong info and shared it without checking first (okay, I'm old, please forgive me!). Thank goodness for this awesome lady at RTC who nicely corrected me.

In regards to "gifts" just so you know...I had an EBAY moment, bought tons of rings and stuff for Christmas...this is a Christmas gift she's getting early!!! Just happened to luck out...seriously..I doubt these kids are expecting anything but a long hot shower, and tv! Dont stress over gifts...and Kristina....do whats best for your family..money is tight for all of us and Im sure Hubby wants you at PIR, but he also wants the bills paid...If you cant make it, we will make sure you get pics and video of him, I'll make sure of it...I promise! I was a newlywed forever ago, I get it....but debt is a bad habit to get into, no matter the occasion...ok, Im done preaching...but Im serious about pics and video!

Really want to go but they dont care as long as they got him to themselves. I am begging the rest of my family to lend me the funds. Just want to cry. If i do somehow get there i am demanding him to get rid of it. We can't move with the car.

Thank you no my his dental doesn't start for me until next month. There might be a big chance i can't go to Chicago. I paid for our insurance last week so that was 200 and then we found out now the state the car is from have special requirement so had to pay. 200 yesterday to change insurance and now i called the new insurance they said my next payment is in two weeks and i found out i still owe for the other insurance for next month too. So i am screwed.

Mine was talking about a new laptop too. His was overheating and had other problems. He also wants/needs a new phone. I may bit the bullet and replace my very old cell phone. It may be one of the last ones still working that doesn't do pictures!! Then we could get his on one of those great specials they have, like a BOGO or something similar.

CaliMom-- I was thinking about an Ipad too...those are pretty cool!...thats why Im thinking I'll just wait let him decide what be best for him and tell him well here is my limit I will go in half with you for Christmas.
Comment by Sylvia*Cali-mom on August 10, 2010 at 11:54am
Trishar...if he passed the Physical and all he is waiting for is the "Dental" part?...then I'm guessing he is probably IN. Just a hunch....when my boy's recruiter found out that he was on the Varsity water polo team he tried to steer him into Seals. It seems like the Navy really needs Nukes and Seals. Hard to find candidates for these areas.
