I know many of you are looking into Laptops for the kids, check out NetBooks...they do everything a Laptop does except it doesnt have a cd rom drive...like most of us, a thumb drive is easier for downloading files, they can download Netflix for movies...NetBooks are smaller and cheaper! Since I cant cook, I shop!!!!

CaliforniaMom - He has passed the Physical tests and is waiting on his dental exam (?). Part of me wants him to just go to ATC school in Pensacola and the other half wants him to follow his dream. Just very worried about him givig up a spot. He is supposed to know this week. That was the one thing he kept mentioning the call Friday, he just wants to know what he is doing.

Casey did leave his laptop at home, but it isn't working. He said he is going to get a new one, instead of trying to fix the old one. I want him to get settle in somewhere, figure out what he can have and what he actually wants. I do have his camera, but I read somewhere that they have to becareful with what they take to a school, can't be too much.

Hubby and I leave for Chicago TWO WEEKS from today! Wow it is going fast and I am thankful for that! We will be traveling via train, so hopefully there will be WI FI somewhere along the way so I can keep ya'll up to date on our Amtrack adventure. We will arrive in Chicago Wednesday afternoon 8/25 and be staying at the Navy Lodge. Can't wait!

Hmm the talk of ribs....thinking of grilling out tonight :-)

Since we don't know if Casey is a grad and go or not, wasn't planning on any gift, but for Christmas I was going to send him a kindle if he is allowed. He is a big book reader.

I slow cook mine with some dark ale for a few hours, slather on the suace, then BBQ. Funny, Im not a beer drinker, but something about the ale makes then very tender and falling off the bone good.

Just returned from the morning run...it is already HOT!! m'smom I parboil my ribs for about 30 minutes so that they are halfway cooked. Boiling them I believe helps to keep them moist so they will not dry out on the grill. After boiling them, the prepare them as usual for the grill. Yum!

Shannon-Thanks for the LOL and yes there is a place near here that makes them, really good too. My sister-in-law has kids that do 4-H outside of DC. We bought part of a pig last year and it came with ribs! Also 4 very large hams, which was great while the son was home. Now it all looks overwhelming. The best part is that it is almost auction time again!! Help!! (Oh and for you southern ladies, pig came complete with scrappel!! How do you cook that???)

I like the bake it idea. I think last time I went the boil way. Will try that, maybe bake after work today and finish tomorrow for dinner. Any other ideas?
