For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Txnavymom, as a nine year survivor I really appreciated your post. Mine was found on my first mammo-Age 43. It was early enough so that It was still small, but multiple sites. I had a mastectomy but no chemo or radiation. They said 6 more months would have been a different story. I finally had reconstructive surgery this past Feb. Figured both kids were grown and didn't need Mom as much any more. Time for me to do something for me!! Matt was at college but had to drive home with his gf to make sure I was ok. I try to encourage all my friends to go. It is so much better to catch it early.
Charlie's mom- as an eastern time zoner I am always amazed at how much I miss after going to bed at 11!! LOL Me thinks you are all a bunch of night owls!!
So what time zone is the count down clock on???

Tx Navy mom. Amen and God Bless that you are OK. You have also jolted me into taking action and getting a Mamo.It's been 2 years.I was kinda worried when I started to read your post so I am relieved all is OK.

I too was at home when the clock flicked to 17 days. It's the first time I have actually watched it and I think if I can I am gonna make it part of my countdown ritual. LOL
I bought Cameron some wonderful inspirational, and some funny cardstoday.I will send him one at a time and I am going to write a letter to him to give to him when we say goodbye at the end of Liberty so that he has a letter the next day. He hasn't got orders yet so I have no idea when he will leave GL for Penacola.
are in day 5-1 (941). Can you believe it timereally is passing. I am watching the 2 PIR groups before us and the one before us is already talking about BS21, The freight train is gonna keep on rolling and our BS21 will be here so soon. I am also glad we have only 5 Div graduating becauuse that means, less people and less traffic in the area.
Please more seats for all those extras that want to go.
