Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

My world is back on its axis. Got a letter from my son (actually a 4 in 1). Should have received last week, but it was sent back to him for some reason (was only three pages so wasn't postage). Anyway, AMEN, about being a Proud Navy Mom. One of their cadences goes like this:
Mama, mama, can't you see (div repeat)
What the Navy's done to me (div repeat)
Sat me down into the chair (div repeat)
And I see I have no hair (div repeat)
Mama, mama can't you see
what the Navy's done to me
Used to drive a chevrolet
Now I'm marching all damn day

He said there's more and they are more fun to march to. He seems to be doing fine.

Cathy- how funny--I too well remember those meetings as a former teacher ain't it funny the things they make you do to become a "better teacher"....but alot of the administrators have not been in a classroom in YEARS??? Now I can just throw some dough at the wall as see "what sticks" you still need to come see us before we leave for GL our last day to serve before we leave for GL will be the 21st.

For all the mothers of daughters out there...there is one thing I almost forgot about the "jumper top" they are notorious for getting makeup on them when the gitld put them on or take them off. I suspect that alot of our daughters will be wearing makeup on their "special day". I am sending Eryn a pillow case before PIR. This is how it works. They put their makeup on and fix their hair, and then place the pillow case over their heads. Then they slip the jumper on over their heads...no messed up hair...no makeup on the white jumpers. Same for when they take it off. As a CPO I no longer have to worry too much about this...but I am still a dirt magnet in the summer whites(I plan to wear these to PIR)

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers....I think that I am going to walk with my sister during the Susan G. Komen 3 day walk. It is time to give back...but I also feel a renewed sense to let all my "sisters" know the importance of early screening!

I am proud to be a NAVY MOM!!!!! Do I hear an AMEN!!!!!?

I have been getting letters everyday now from my husband and I'm so excited! It can get lonely over here without him. Has anyone gotten any phone calls recently? I haven't had one since the 27th of July! But He said his Division received their first flag! So that's exciting! I can't believe we are down to 17 days. I feel like we got here so fast but the days are starting to feel longer for me : ( I guess cause I'm getting excited and focusing more on the countdown!
