TxNavyMomWifeCPO - so glad you are ok. I had a lumpectomy a few years back, turned out ok. but I tell everyone, regardless of age (I was 33), know your family histroy, do self exams, and please, go for your yearly exams. Not pleasant, but the alternative is worse.

shannog-bc doesn't include the "P" days or processing days. For some recruits P days can be as little as 5 or 6 days or as long as a week and a half.

Okay gals here is my public service announcement. It is totally off subject in regards to the Navy or graduation, but has everything to do with the close relationship I feel has developed over the past several weeks. So here it goes. If you are in your 40's get your annual mammogram! Please. I waited until Eryn left and had this done a couple weeks ago--usually I have this done in my birth month of May. I know sometimes we tend to put ourselves last so that we can take care of our loved ones. Well....got a letter last week from the imaging clinic--usually the mammo results are negative and say "see you next year" Well not this time!!!!!! They radiologist found something "unusual" So, I scheduled the diagnostic mammo as soon as possible because I don't like to have anything hanging over my head. Had to cancel the early appointment last Friday because of the insurance (Tricare Prime) and the hospital not being on the same page. All weekend I kept thinking about the all the negative possibilities so close to PIR and of course agonized ALL weekend. I had the diagnostic mammo done this morning, when the radiologist was there. He also ordered a sonogram. I do a self exam every month and it wasn't even the breast I thought it would be. Well thank goodness it turns out it is only a little fluid filled cyst that I did not even feel! He assured me that everything was okay, and said "we will see you next year!"

So ladies, I say this with great affection, please take care of your needs including health needs. I go every year and then spend lots of money on myself--today it was clothes for the upcoming trip. What is the worst thing that a mammo could find? Something that can be caught and treated very early and successfully. Okay thanks for letting me vent my concerns and care.

Shannon - I will be rooting on your daughter!

Boxersmom - you son will be in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

MOMS - we are SO CLOSE! I feel like a kid during the holidays, counting down, waiting to see what Santa brought. This year, it will be the very best present, a sailor!

PROUD TO BE A NAVY MOM!

WHen I got the call last Friday, I was at work, doing an employee meeting when the front desk came over and said I have a phone call. I was going to have them send it to voice mail, but before I could, he said, "its your son". I don't think I have ran that fast in a long time. Still smiling.

Ladies, just a reminder to some who have not RSVP'ed to our M & G. We only have 16 days left until we can meet each other and give those hugs in person. Don't miss out by not attending our Meet & Greet. If you haven't already you can RSVP by clicking on the 26th on the calendar on the right. Let us know how many are coming. I will let the Ramada know so they can have lots of food for us!!

Good Morning Ladies! First of all let me say that my prayers are with many of you as we go through BC. Let all of our children, especially those with medical needs be blessed.
I just signed on to the N4M's and seen the countdown clock and yelled out loud (and I am at work) 17 more days before I see my son!!! YEAH!!!!!! The ladies here in the office laughed and said they was waiting on me to say something-I guess I say something every day about my son or the Navy-LOL
