Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

Thx Cathy J - Yes, I've been reading all the comments and my phone is with me always. There have been a few times I forgot bring with me and I freaked, found it, and went on with my business. It's just unlike him. Do they have to do Marlin Spike over?

Did any other 285 family get letters the latter part of this week? Just wondering b/c I have gotten letter every week since they could write and didn't get anything. Ken sends to me and I distribute to everyone else. His letters have come either Thur., Fri., or Sat. each week. Starting the worry bug.

Hi everyone, I'm going to lay low this weekend, but will pop in occasionally. Just wanted to share some info from N4M moms who are at PIR this weekend. Quite a few stayed at the Ramada (where I stayed) and they said it was awesome, no smells and they felt very safe and comfortable there. Also, they have a "normal" shuttle bus that holds quite a few people. You need to be out front by 6:45 and it leaves at 7am. Picks you (and your sailor) up at 11:30pm - which is just under an hour after PIR is over - that's a good thing too, because it gives them time to run back to their barracks to get their pictures and grab Navy swimwear (for hotel). I still preferred driving because I got there earlier and got an excellent seat too - and I got my sailor to myself instead of sharing him with everyone on the bus! He was a Grad & Go, so wanted every minute to count!

I wish my mailman was consistant each day. One day it is at 2 other days it is 4. Different mailman every other day. If it was around a certain hour I can know so i wouldnt have to walk the three flights of stairs 30 times. Just felt like expressing that. LOL SOrry

They mail letters Mondays before. But now I believe they are writing Tues and Thursday and Sundays. I am happy to hear he got a position that he would kinda like to do. He can always change later on. Thats good that he is doing good now. Onlya couple more days and you get to see him. Nah its all good. You got to stand up for your man and his division. I would do the same for mine.
lol

i just got a letter!!! what?? he wrote it on tues and i got it today!! i thought they were only allowed to send on sundays? he said he got my questionaire and filled it out immediately, so hopefully i will get that soon. battlestations is the 24th for his div. his new job is LS which is logistics specialist. he is happy he stayed but doesnt think he wants to be a lifer cuz he cant stand shaving everyday. lol hell week is this week and next, they get up at 4 am every morning!! live fire was aug 6, marlinspike was aug 3. they had 25 mins to moore a fake ship and cast it off. their div did it with 1 min and 24 sec left and their brother div 285 took over 30 mins and had 10 safety violations, they only had 5. so they win the competition. i know most of you are div 285 so dont beat me up! lol
