Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

Ladies, you should be RSVPing to the MnGreet on the Events calendar on the side of this page. Get to Aug 26 on the calendar, click on that date, the MnGreet info comes up. RSVP there. You all should also be planning your ribbons, etc for your division. Ramada likes to have a count from N4M's so someone should call about 2 days before MnGreet give them the RSVP's. This is just for food planning.

m'smom: On the size of the MeetNGreets, from the 2 groups that I started (8/6 and 8/13), there will be over 100 at each one just from this site...that was as of about 4 days ago. They are big and others not on here will find out about it and be there too. The Ramada posts it on their hotel site so for those staying there, they know. Plus it may have been in the grad info in your form letter? Can't remember,...it's been a while for me.

Ladies, please go to PIR 8/13/2010 and read BigDaddyJames post about the Ramada after talking to the GM before making any decisions. His comments may ease your minds. He posted about 2 hours ago.

KristinaR-Yes an active duty, retired, or reservist military can travel space "A"(means available) on any available military flight. The Navy Lodge is relatively close to RTC, although we have also reserved a rental car at the BX on the main side base. The two parts of Great Lakes Naval Station are pretty spread out--walkable, but I don't want to walk in my summer whites all over the place on graduation day though.

It is too bad that the train does not run through Odessa. I hear that it is a very scenic trip to Chicago going south to north.

How far is the Lodge from the RTC?

They still have Hops?

TxNavyMomWifeCPO- I wanted to take the train but it doesnt run from Odessa and scared to leave the car park somewhere else. Nobody can drive me there. So we are still debating driving or Grey Hound. I got a couple of days to figure this out.

KristinaR-no they will not actually charge your card until you check in. And, like angie, I use my husband's card all the time. And he has used the one in my name. If there is an issue(which I don't think there will be)--all the front desk will have to do is call him to verify.

m'smom I am so sorry about Gracie-God gave us such wonderful companion animals to share our lives with-I will say a little prayer for her and you. You and your hubby should take care of each other and take a little short jaunt somewhere--like a bed and breakfast--it is amazing how pretending that you are dating does for the marriage. We have been married for 27 years(August 12) and now with the "empty" nest--we still have three dogs, eight cats, 12 chickens, 4 horses, and 8 cows and a business to run--but we still find time to have fun. Tuesday we are taking a Navy hop(a flight) to North Island(San Diego) for a overnighter and a little cool fun!
