Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

Joey's mom & Nuke mom- It must be tough not knowing, but I'm sure that they are safe & healthy. I noticed that both of your kids are in different divisions too. 287 & 288. This does baffle me that you both haven't received letter #1 or any letters. The 30 minute phone call too. I'm guessing it's a "Gel' thingy. In earlier threads, I did read that there was some cat-fighting amongst a division or between divisions? But I don't know if the women/girls are in the same divisions as the men/boys. Anyone know details on this? I know they have separate sleeping quarters, but do they do stuff together like march, exercise, eat, study, workout together as a group. If so, this may be the "gelling" difficulty we heard that some group was having. dunno. Again, they are safe & healthy....the MOST important thing on our minds. Remember, no news is really good news. If there were bad news, you'd have gotten a phone call from your recruit or a leader if your kid was sick or something. Hang in there ladies. You'll probably hear from them soon.

Joeys mom - No! I am in the same boat! I have heard zip. I'm totally with you - did their Div do something to lose the privilege? My SR is a good kid and I don't think it was him only. I am also upset/anxious and appreciate everyone's post here on what their son or daughter is experiencing. Signed, Still Waiting {sigh}

Hi all, I guess I'm the only one who has not heard from their recruit. No call or letters. Not sure why. So I know nothing about what he is doing or anything about his DIV. Its pretty upsetting. I knew this would be a HUGE adjustment for him but not to hear about anything. i dont know if he did something to lose his phone call or what. But noone has heard from him. I didnt expect a letter everyday(OK yes I did) but nothing. Im glad all of your recruits are doing well, it does give me some insight. Thanks

TxnavyMomwife-

Thanks nikosmom. Just got a letter from Eryn--first thing she wants to do is get her eyebrows plucked and soak in a REAL bathtub. Go figure :-) thats a girl for you. She also wants me to bring her chocolate covered raisins. I guess she can eat them while she takes her bubble bath! :-)

I know that for us, my son has only one wish after PIR and that involves food! I am still waiting to hear what he is doing after PIR, whether he got his reclassification for BUDS or if he is still waiting......ugh, I hate waiting, patience has never been something I am known for. Can you believe this journey is half over, and we are that much closer!

Sam0618 - Just wanted to touch base, see how you are doing. The hardest part of this process is the not knowing part. Yes, no news is good news, at least that is what I keep telling myself. I know that the first letters from my son, I was a wreck, he sounded so homesick but each week, it got better. His phone, he said "Mom, I get what they are doing, with the IT's and such, and I just need to go with it." I think his "light bulb" went off, that he was broken down. SOunds like your husband may still be in that stage, but it won't last long, I promise. It will get better. Keep us informed, you and your husband are in my prayers.

diannep- thanks for the prayers and for your support. i was totally thinking the same thing about the whole he is still in the breaking down phase. but as a wife, you gotta support whatever decision he makes. ya know? he told me on our phone call on tues. that he would pick a job thurs. (today) or he comes home. its about 6pm here and no phone call yet. i guess no news is good news in the navy right?!?!? got a short letter today, he said that the 18-19 yr olds wont stop talking and they got an hour of IT for it!!
