Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

oh wow..that is so crazy about the water..my husband would never make it there...we've had heat index over hundred here for the last two weeks..and yeah I do love the seasons problem here is they seem to be running over each other..wearing shorts to football games and thermo to baseball games.

In his letter he said that day he got a letter from me saying Arizona heat is so hot lucky for him he probably going to see rain. He said at midnight that day they woke everyone to go because there was a tornado 20 miles from there, He said sleeping in the shower with 25 other guys was not what he picture a good night sleep. Yesterday my daughters and I watched the movie Men of Honor two times and they kept saying mom look dad job. It was a good movie.

Here is AZ, the temps last week averaged 115, dew point at 65 and humidity at 25%. We live with 3 months of horrible, hot weather for nice weather the rest of year. What I miss in the summer is cold water. You can't get any from the faucet, it comes out hot! Have to let the cold water run for a few minutes to get lukewarm water. From Nebraska orginally, have to say, don't miss the cold. I do miss seasons though. Here, its hot or hotter.

CaliMom-thanks for the latest letter info..my son is used to those 3am 'get up we gotta go to the storm shelter' ..glad to hear everything ok though...guess compared to what all they been going thru up there a tornado warning seemed a simple drill

sounds to me like we all got mother nature covered..bama here gets to deal with tornado alley!! think I'd rather have those over earthquakes too..honestly though sounds like AZ got the best deal..heat I can deal with since Im very cold natured..If I do go to Missiouri to visit Zac I may freeze LOL

We have a fireplace in our family room which we kept running 24/7. Bathroom was at 40 degrees. Matt got up one night to go to bathroom, when he came back the dog was in his sleeping bag!! He had to go find another one!! Guess we all have weather we could live without. No one from Hawaii?? I hear they don't have any of these weather problems.

I think 29" of snow in January or was it February and no power for 5-8 days is the most fun!! Can't wait for this winter!! lol
Comment by shannong1268 (CVN 77) on July 29, 2010 at 1:36pm
Now...theres nothing like having no power in August in Fl for 11 DAYS!!!....ahh, good times!!!! We played games, drank wine while we waited for this darn storm (charlie), you can always try to out run Hurricanes, but then you have to come back home and see whats left!!!! I would think P'cola would be safe for Hurricanes!! Its usually never as bad as they say, except (Katrina & Charlie)

3am tornado warnings? Oh my! My SR would have been pretty grumpy to have to get out of bed at that time....
