Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

nikosmom- I will definitely look you up!...I may fly out and visit one weekend..he says he suppose to get two weeks leave after his A school but he was also suppose to get some time after grad, nothing is guarantee so I just wait and plan and be excited when he calls and says 'Im coming home'.. and I do like the lesson of the day..LOL :)
ladies I cant imagine going a day without getting on here and checking whats going on..Im sure I would have went crazy without this site and without all of you!! I dont want us to lose our group even after graduation..I want us to still stay in touch and keep up with all our men's progress.

Sam: Would it help if some of us wrote to your husband to encourage him? My son went through and graduated in Feb. He was asmoed (setback) for a week but graduated. So I know about those discouraging phone calls...I agree with nikosmom. You never know what lies ahead and how an "I won't like it" job turns into a good thing. If you think he would appreciate an "encouragement" letter, please PM me his address. In the meantime, I will keep him in my prayers....I know that call probably upset you...but he obviously was at a "broken down" moment...and that is what they are....moments...and then they "get back up on the horse" to ride again. Please remind him what nikosmom said: He is still in the horrible "breaking down" time. It does get MUCH better. Just go on PIR 8/13 or 8/6 and read the exciting posts from those ladies whose recruits are close to graduating. He is just about there where the tide turns and he will see daylight!

Can't sleep....i got a letter yesterday from my husband... He is changing because he officially told me sorry for all these years and now he loves me more than ever. That warm my heart. They switched his bunk to the middle. He said he laughs at lunch because they give watermelon everyday and it reminded him of me eating watermelon everyday. That made me chuckle since he left i haven't eaten any since the last day he was here..

Your son will hold your hand for a little while but will hold your heart for a lifetime. It's "Sons Week." I love this saying. Was posted on FB by a friend.

your absolutely right!! thank you so much for the help, its so true about the jobs. i think he's still in that breaking down part of the first couple of weeks and he has never been away from home or from me so its just a shock and he's gotta get used to it.

thank you!! its hard to try and talk him into staying when he is basically crying on the phone because he doesnt want a job that he hates. my cousin has been navy for 17 years and he has just been going to school and choosing different jobs the whole time!! i told my husband that everyone has got to start somewhere and there are so many jobs to choose from! he said they will offer him like 5 jobs and he has to choose one of them i guess. so hope he smartens up and sticks it out. i love him to death and would want nothing more than for him to come home, but not under circumstances like this. its like basically giving up! hes halfway through already!!

hi everyone!! unlike most of you, my husband is in bc. we got married june 18 and he left for bc july 1. barely any time to spend as newlyweds, but we knew what we were getting into. it is really tough but i am dealing with it. he is ship 4 div 286, anyone else out there in that division? my first call from him was on sunday with the words "i need to tell me something"! i was freaking out! he said that he has been discharged from his job because his eyesight isnt up to standards for aircrew and it is not fixable with surgery. so he either picks a different job on thursday or he comes home. he said they will be the lowest of the low jobs and he is nervous. is that true? will they only offer him like sub duty or another low job because he now finds out that he cannot be in his job? before he left, everything was fine now all of a sudden bam! its frustrating and im nervous he will not pick something. i also got a call from him yesterday and tried talking him into just picking a job and working his way up because then this will all be for nothing! he said he is doing well, getting 5.0's on almost everything, and he misses me like crazy. so do i, we went from seeing eachother everyday to not even speaking. its really hard to deal with it, especially being newlyweds. i have been reading all of your comments and it has helped me so much and feel a little closer to him just hearing all of you talk about your children and husbands. he said he is a grad and go but could that change if he picks another job? nice to meet all of you!!!
