Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

Every second i have i go on my husband phone to read everyones comment... Think people i know are getting jealous that i put so much attention to this rather than the real world. As long as i am happy Plus enjoy speaking to everyone and this informs me i am going to keep logging on

Oh by the way one more thing. Ladies, please don't think that this has been one sided. You gals have been very supportive and my lifeline as well. Just because this is not the first boot camp experience, separation, deployment, etc does not mean that I don't have a bag of mixed emotions as well( I think there's too many double negatives in that sentence). You gals have been great, supportive and inspirational to me in returnl. A few threads back someone said women should be in charge of the world. I look forward to seeing what is going on each day with everyone. :-) God Bless to All of You!

tnpromised - that site is amazing! Thank you so much for posting, makes me feel a little closer to my son!

I couldn't agree more on how much this site rocks! It has been a true sanity saver for the past month and I don't know what I would have done without it. There is so much great advice, I only wish that this information was sent out with the formal letter, as Im sure that there are alot of moms who don't know about this site, and may be feeling lost.

CathyJ - you are amazing. Just to be on the safe side, my sons division is 941 and my state is AZ. We would like 2 ribbons, if at all possible.

Hi all! Here's wishing that I was somewhere cooler than here! It is hot down here in Texas! Hope everyone is doing well. Like I was telling boxermom I was fitted for monovision contacts yesterday...love not having to wear glasses, but I see like I have had one too many to drink :-! I hope that it straightens out soon.

Hope all is well with everyone and everyone seems rightfully joyous about the phone calls...all is right with the world! Got my call when I was standing in the auto/tire waiting room in Walmart. Great call Eryn is doing well. She said 941 is beginning to gel-29 days and counting :-)

In regards to G and G, it depends on the rate in deciding who leaves after graduation. Most aviation rates will be in Pensacola and they tend to be grad and go--but again it all depends on the "whims" of the Navy...Pensacola-now this is a wonderful place to be in "A" school. After the hurricane a few years back, they tore down many of the old WWII buildings and basically built a whole new "campus" on the east side of the base...it is beautiful and looks like a college campus-there is a food court, movie theater, "E" club (enlisted), a small shopping mall in one of the old sea plane hangers, and most importantly the most spectacular white sandy beaches in the world! Wish I was sitting there right now---I can dream :-)

Zac's mom- Is Zach in Div.285 and is he a Grad & Go? If so, my son is in the same boat. (yes, pun intended) Is by chance in Aviation field, and going to Pensacola?
Comment by djloch (Zac's Mom) on July 28, 2010 at 5:12pm
nikosmom-its mine that is going to Missiouri..if I make it out to see him while there I will definitely look you up...so will your son get leave since his school is in Great Lakes??

KristinaR-thats sweet that he drew that for you to see...Zac didnt draw it but he described it and said he was in the middle..and I understand about no money and sacrifices...I didnt work when ours were younger so one income is rough but once he gets through this your family will be so taken care of with housing, steady income and insurance coverage..But I know what you mean about getting up there..we are driving too..we are coming from Bama so little over 11 hours and carrying sandwich stuff and snacks but I'll be there if all we eat is pb&j all month..LOL
And Zac said their RDCs said they have from after grad til 9p or 10p and would let them know that day once arrangements for departure was made

No not everyone is a grad n go. It was funny because my husband drew his barrack it was like a four year old drew it but cool. I am going over there with no money. With him being the only one making an income I went this whole month with nothing, but it is worth it. Thats why i am driving there. I promised him I will make it and he knows I wouldnt ever break a promise. Thats the sacrifices people make right. The ones that stay stay there until they start school. The ones that leave I wouldnt know what time that would be. I know for his uncle he left 20 mins after the graduation. Depending I guess.
