My SR is in Aviation, P'Cola, but she's Div 941, so far, not G&G! I dont know what qualifies them for G&G???

Zac's Mom-I'm definitely not telling my sailor any world news that will make him worry.
So, let me get this straight: ALL of Division 285 are Grad & Go and all of them are heading to Pensacola? All 88 of them? Are these recruits all in the "Aviation" field?

CaliMom- Ive been sending little cut outs from the bham news to Zac..thought that way he could keep up with whats going on a little and show the other guys too maybe (or he could be hogging it all to himself)..Im sure they are passing info and hearing what other moms/wives are sending to their sailors..but I dont send him the stuff on missing soldiers or anything..dont want him to have anything on his mind to worry about..because by the time we can send them anything else it be another week..

My son mentioned this a while back, in one of his letters....that they are pretty much "cut off" from the world. There is no TV. Silly me, I thought bootcamp would have a big recreation-type living room with a big TV with CNN or Fox News on to allow the boys to relax & unwind during "down time" on Sundays. (You know, the way airports have TVs on.) But again, he said there is no TV. They are absolutely cut off from the world. He said, "I don't even know if the BP oil is still spilling or anything." I immediately wrote back and told him about the "temporary capping" and other news tidbits. I even filled him in on dumb things like the Lindsey Lohan jail stuff and Mel Gibson tapes. I know....dumb. But at least he could get a sense of what is going on in the world or what our cable news stations are covering as of late. I don't know if I should tell him about the really scary stuff. The "Willileaks" stuff, or about the two missing U.S. sailors. Or even the South Korean ship that was hit by North Korea. gulp. My gut tells me not to tell him....but I think that is what he is really asking me. Because again, all this was via snail-mail letters, but yesterday when we talked on the phone he said that Hollywood stuff was not important. He wanted "World News". Which when he was here at home....he could have cared LESS about that stuff. He sure has changed!

Ladies, I need to order your anchors pins for the ribbons soon. Those who have not given us your name, division and state where you live, could you please do this soon? CathyJ has volunteered to get our ribbons done and then mail them to me for pin placement. All we will have to do at the Meet & Greet is add the names of those who are with us.
For those who have no idea what I am talking about, Meet & Greet is at the Ramada on the 26th of August between 6 & 8 pm. It is a chance to get to know those folks we only know as 'boxermom' right now. Ramada supplies hot hors d'orves (how do you spell that word???) and soft drinks. There will be a cash bar available. Please RSVP for the event by clicking on the 26th on the calandar on your page. You can RSVP with how many are coming. Then let us know about your ribbon requests at the discussion page above.
Thanks all.
