Well Ladies it is now official 29 days until we see them. My Mailman said if we all send 30 letters per day to our recruits, they wouldn't have to raise the postage rates!! Thought you would enjoy that little tidbit.

Yes I understand! As soon as I saw the 847 area code pop up on my cell phone I answered "JAMES"..I didn't even say hello. ;-) Once he said Hi Mom I broke down..and he choked up too. It was so GREAT to hear his voice. He was so calm, and so proud to share with me all that he has experienced thus far.

I am so thankful that we were able to receive a call from our kids. What a blessing! I haven't stopped smiling.. ;-)

Djloch,

I love the fact that your sons first words were "mom its so good to hear your voice". So sweet! ;-)

And yes tnpromised--I was really amazed at how calm he was on the phone..here we are all frantic with a million questions and mine was just like "so how is everything mom"...it amazes me the boy that use to sleep to noon, play video games and pull his clothes right out of the hamper and put them back on is telling me how he sleeps in til 6, can fold his clothes like a brick and make his bunk in 10min..so I guess it wasnt calmness but maturity we heard..
kristinar-mine too kept telling me he didnt know many first names cause they go by last names..did tell me his bunk was toward the middle but most of his buds were toward the back on the right..he rattled off last names but Im sorry I wasnt writing it all down cause I paniced when I answered and it was FINALLY him..lol
Zac did say too that the RDCs told them they may have until 10p to be back at base that Fri night but they wouldnt know til that day and they would get their flight info that week..I mailed mine one of those fill in blank forms from GradnGo discussion and told him just write it down and give me that day when I see him

Just wrote letter # 23, I think. It was 4 pages long with all the questions I didn't get to ask yesterday. I am afraid to seal it because I keep thinking of more to ask.
boxemom-Not ignoring your important questions, just don't know the answers. Don't know if diannep or sobe will know. You might try to talk to Hoppi(she is the Navy Seal under the members of this group). She seems to know everything. Good Luck! I will keep you and your son in my prayers.

oh yes CaliMom-- my son said same thing cause I asked him did I need to send him anything and he said "mom please dont send anything but plain letters" ...he also told me that they get to sleep in til 6 on Sundays and they get that half day off..they can either go to church or stay at the barracks..he said him and few others stay at the barracks and take advantage of the free time by taking a 30min shower instead of only the two minutes they get thru the week and then use rest of time to get their boots shined, bunks ready for inspections and write letters...said they get mail call Mon-Fri but can only write on Sundays and that by the date of my letters its taking about a week to get to him..he said next week starts the weekly inspections so everyone little anxious about that..
Mines first words, "mom its so good to hear your voice" ....
