Ca-mom- From what the girl friend and his letter last week said, yes he had talked to an RDC! Apparently this RDC was Aircrew and so has been pushing Matt to work harder on his run. He has been encouraging him to stay with Aircrew. The RDC has told him there is no reason why he won't make it through the training, which we have been told, is pretty rigorous. Maybe this is one of the RDC's in the FIT training. The link I posted earlier said they work one on one at times, to make sure they all pass the PFA. Look at me using all those acronyms!!
I have decided that in 12 days I will call the GF and give her a list of questions I need answers to.
My daughter suggested I go get one of those recordable cards and send him a hooter (from Harry Potter) asking why he only called the GF not his mother. She suggested using my 'mean mother' voice. LOL

CaliforniaMom-

He did not know what would be available. But he is curious to see what his options may be.

I'm very amazed at how much information you all got from your sailors. Mine has never been much of an "information" guy. Everyday I'd ask him after school, "How was school today, honey?" And his answer was always a one word answer. "good." No more info. Getting info from him is like pulling teeth. haha

Isn't that amazing how "calm" our guys sounded on the phone? Very professional. Question for tnpromised-When your son said "reclassification will either be tomorrow or Thursday, did he mention what openings there were? My son didn't seem to think it was going to happen for him. Just wondering what your son is wanting to reclassify to or how they can change?

Yes I did write most of it down. ;-) I am still so amazed at how calm he was.

I am so happy for all of you. I know that after speaking with my son, I felt some peace. I heard in his voice he was ok, and yes, more quiet and mature. I was on cloud 9 for days!

My son just called. He is good. States reclassification will be either tomorrow or Thursday. He has had his wisdom teeth removed and recovering from this and is now trying to get well from a sore throat. He had a tooth filled today. It is training week 2 day 5 for division 285. He said he likes 3 of his RDC's. They were fitted for dress uniforms yesterday. They earned a flag for scoring the highest on a recent test they took. They are to have haircuts again tomorrow. He told me he is one of the tallest and will be in the back row middle. He has made friends with specifically 4 other SR's. One who is Adrien from Idaho I believe, another he called "Stretch". said "Stretch" is 6ft. 6 inches and he and my son are next to one another most of the time due to height. "Stretch" is from Orlando. Another friend he said his first name is Jacob.
He said he likes Basis the best and this is like an obstacle course they do every Saturday. He is looking forward to the firing range. He is hoping he will be reclassified. His bunk-mates first name is Jake and he believes he is from Kansas City. Said, his bunk mate is pretty quiet. Unsure of exact date for BS. Told me his job is "permanent watch" and he really isn't keen on it, but understands that BC will be over soon. He says he tries to stay "under the radar' and so far has been pretty successful.

It was so wonderful to hear his voice. I am so thankful that he is doing well.

I certainly hope all of you received your calls. God Bless all our SR's, and all of us Moms, wives, and girlfriends!
