Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

If July 12 was week 1-1 then I think they are in 2-###, I am not sure. I was using the web site mentioned before I found this web site. And the Navy4moms racks video. The video really helped me but the web site listed seem to make me more anxious than less. I talked to my son's girlfriend yesterday, she was babusitting my neigbours kids so I went to chat to her. She cried and hugged me and we had a long talk. Last night she commented on face book the one thing that comforts me about boot camp. No matter where I am or what i am doing at 10pm I can look at the clock and know where he is.(this is where the rack video came in helpful) His day is over the yelling is done and tomorrow can be a fresh start for him. So commented on FB I know where you are and I know what you are doing. Some poeple commented that it was creepy but her and I get comfort from it. At least now I know where he is at 10pm, not like before he joined up.<----British term for enlisting.

Thank you diannep,

I am staying positive. I know he is doing ok. I miss him that's all. ;-)

As we all know it is tough not being able to "hear" their voice.

Thanks nikosmom. I have gotten nothing done at work this morning because this is a great website with lots of info on Bootcamp. It has the breakdown by week, so if we are on week 3 you will know whatthey are doing this week.

...and adding to nikosmom's post...the halfway point means that things start to get much better for the recruits. The "building back up" begins and they too start to see light at the end of the tunnel.

tnpromised: Just try to adopt the Navy slogan: No news is good news, when in bc. So the fact you haven't heard from him...that is good in a way. That means he is doing ok. When you finally hear from him, it will be very special!

Not much sleep last night..can't seem to stop worrying about my son. Wishing I could hear his voice and know what week/day his division/group is in. This is alot tougher than I expected. I am proud of him...but I sure do miss him.

Good evening to all...a prayer lifted to our Marine brothers--Semper Fi!

Anita-the recruits are still in the"tearing down" process. Knowing first hand, believe me--the motor mouthed recruits will soon get the picture--through peer pressure. If these same recruits do not "get it" soon, they might see a little extra individual work come their way. Hang in there--going through the darkness there will be a small beacon of light shining soon.

prayers sent....and I think they are on week 3??? Josh never gives those details...only that things are tough at times..and would be nice if some of the recruits would learn to shut up and do what they are told...would make this a lot easier...

I thought someone had said her son wrote it was week 1:day 1. Can't find the reference to check it.
I do have a request for you ladies. My nephew arrived at Parris Island to start Marine Boot camp, today. This is my sister's second son. Her oldest son is a Marine, in Afghanistan, due to come home to his wife, son and brand new baby(Brianne was born on June 28th). They have moved up David's homecoming to between the 2nd and 4th of August. I think my sister Barb could use a little extra prayer support from the Navy side, if you would. Thanks
